Every photographer needs super clamps. Put your camera here, your remote flash up there, hang a backdrop, make a Strobist-style boom with a monopod.... these things are great. And these particular clamps are every bit as good as the more expensive ones, as far as I can tell. Solid construction that looks like they will last for years. They even come with an adapter to make the jaws close flat (for use on a table, etc.). It's a basic tool and every photographer will wish he/she had a couple at some point.

Like others I went for the cheaper product trying to save a bit of $. Big mistake! The clamp itself seems fine but the weakest point, the standard stud, fails!A soon as I tried to screw something on it the tip broke off! [...] the stud is made from white metal/pot metal NOT BRASS. I'm not a metallurgist but I am a professionally working metalsmith and know my metals. I wouldn't trust this stud for holding anything and have already ordered replacements (Manfrotto) and will only be purchasing Manfrotto from now on.I would give the clamp a 3 or 4 but the stud failure takes it down to a 1. Why they decided to really skimp on materials for this all-important part is beyond reason.Also- Trying to save $ is fine, but when you add up the cost of this product + shipping the difference between this and the Manfrotto is negligible, especially considering the unreliability of the stud.

Comments about Impact Super Clamp with Standard (1/4"-20) Stud:
I wasn't quite sure what to expect out of this little guy but it's proven very useful for location shooting where there might not be room or time for setting up stands and you just need to throw a light on a counter or something. Definitly will add more to my lighting kit.

Comments about Impact Super Clamp with Standard (1/4"-20) Stud:
Heavy, but well made. Does what it's intended to. Good value for the price. I'll use this to support speedlights for Strobist type work at home, and on location. I may also use it on a light stand to hold a horizontal pole, as a backdrop support ( I bought 2 of these ). I actually got this in preference to a Justin clamp.

Comments about Impact Super Clamp with Standard (1/4"-20) Stud:
I'm a firm believer in the manfrotto clamps. while this one is very solid, i probably wouldn't hang a camera with it, but it does great for just little odds and ends that superclamps are great for. the handle is a bit small, so it can be a bit of a pain to tighten it down as well as the manfrotto one that has the ratcheting arm.

Comments about Impact Super Clamp with Standard (1/4"-20) Stud:
This is a great clamp for anyone on a budget who is willing to sacrifice the little things. The only complaint I would have would be that more leverage on the tightening nuts would be great (i.e. make the nobs larger like the Manfrotto model). But for the price ... who's complaining? Not me.

Comments about Impact Super Clamp with Standard (1/4"-20) Stud:
The Super Clamp is a study vise like device that can be attached to many round or flat surfaces up to about 2" wide. The interior of the mouth has a non-slip surface. Turning the handscrew to lock down the jaws until snug is often enough to secure even larger objects. The stud allows for connections of a small camera to the device or even various continuous or strobe light units. With the stud removed a variety of 3/8" to 1/2" support poles may be inserted to support light modifiers. The rear of the unit allow for the addition of other accessories such as paper roll hooks. Overall I would recomend this product to others.

This clamp is easy to use and very versatile. Its size and construction allow it to hold anything I need it to, and it will do that with ease. I think it may be stronger than the truss I hang it on.

Comments about Impact Super Clamp with Standard (1/4"-20) Stud:
This super clamp is exactly what the name describes, a 'super' clamp. It can mount to just about anything, using its rubber teeth to secure to a pipe or otherwise round object, or, with the included triangular insert, can be used to mount on flat surfaces such as tables. The included 5/8 Baby Stud allows countless mounting possibilities, with a handy release button and tightening knob.
Bottom line: If gripping is your business, and you want a tool versatile enough for just about any use, having a few of these around will make your rigs safe and secure.

When I ordered the Super Clamp, I did it in haste. I thought I ordered the Manfrotto. When I received it, I was delighted with the quality. Excellent price!

High quality clamp that will attach to just about anything. It's very strong and can easily hold a strobe and small umbrella. Multiple tripod-sized threaded holes for versatility in mounting various devices. The only downside is that it's heavy and bulky.

Comments about Impact Super Clamp with Standard (1/4"-20) Stud:
I am going to use this clamp to lighten my load when going to photograph events where lighting is required. So far I have used in on poles, racks, tree branches and easy ups. I attach an umbrella mount or just screw on the plastic foot for the speed light. This clamp is built well and works like it should. I wish that the "mouth" would open just a little wider in some cases. Good buy for [$].

Comments about Impact Super Clamp with Standard (1/4"-20) Stud:
Identical to the Manfrotto in every way and less expensive. Solidly built, and I expect this one to last as long as my original manfrotto which is going on 15 years of constant abuse.

Comments about Impact Super Clamp with Standard (1/4"-20) Stud:
I use this clamp with maily lighting (great for an up-high backlight in a warehouse). But I carry a couple of these around on every shoot. Once used one to ceiling mount a small handycam.
Short Anwser: Manfrotto makes the better one that will last forever, the impact version of the same clamp may be 35$ cheaper and will get the same jobs done, but it may need to be replaced after a few years.
I'd buy the more expensive Manfrotto unless your strapped for cash.

The Super Clamp is super. It has an intense grip and is very sturdy. I had it mounted on my motorcycle and accidentally knocked it off. It was returned to me a little banged up but still works perfectly!

I got this product last week and used it on my first shooting. Just in a minute I hanged up my backlight on top of a kitchen cabinet, no need to put stand and try to hide it.
I need to get 2-3 more of this.
