This is good for learning about the camera in a bite size way were the manual can over load. Wish they could of put a play all.

The DVD is cheesy as can be expected, but very informative. Don't look like a chump going to a shoot without knowing the intricacies of this camera. There are many features that would take a great deal of searching and playing around to figure out how it works (even setting the white balance!) Also, this is not a Sony product which is a plus, because the writers of the DVD will tell you straight the "unfortunate" aspects of the camera you won't get in the manual. If you're spending that much money on your camera, then spend the [$] to learn how to use it properly.

Really a great product for learning basic camera functions. However I did not like the menus, i would have prefered at continous play video. 4 stars.

A camera like the HVR-ZIU takes time to master with all it's features. This DVD is very helpful -- both in providing an overview of what the camera can (and with unusual honesty CAN'T do) -- and then step by step instructions as to doing it. It made the camera very useable right out of the box.
