Lensbaby Lensbaby 2.0 Special Effects Lens for Canon EOS
The Lensbaby 2.0 is an SLR lens that will add a unique perspective on the world that is a radical departure from the precision of digital or even film photography. It allows for selective focusing with SLR cameras. Effects like blurring, glowing highlights, and subtle, prismatic color distortions can all be achieved without software manipulations.
The Lensbaby is a hybrid between a bellows camera and a tilt-shift camera. The lens can be compressed, extended, and/or bent off-center in any direction for different effect.
Just the right tool for those looking to be more creative, expressive, or simply looking to enjoy photography.
- Compatible with all Canon EOS SLR cameras, as well as other brands that use the EOS lens mount system; e.g. Kodak DCS-1, DCS 520, & DCS 560.
- The lens tubing is the part of the Lensbaby that allows you to control the effect that it gives. It can be compressed or extended by pulling or pushing the focusing collar at the end of the Lensbaby. This in turn controls what is in focus, with fully compressed focusing on infinity and full extended focusing about 1 foot ahead. To focus on subjects that are between these distances, you have to partly compress the Lensbaby.
- The lens aperture can be changed by inserting different size magnetic aperture discs, with a choice of f/2, 2.8, 4, 5.6, and 8.

I use this lens from close ups to scenics. With it's sweet spot of selective focus the lens leads me to interpret subjects in new original ways. There is always an element of surprise and using this lens teaches me to see things in a new creative light. Using this lens knocks me out of a rut and rewards me with the patience to discover a new perspective. The only con is that you must learn to be very careful and very still in focusing but this is actually a bonus benefit in that it will discipline your technique.

I found this very easy to use. It took only a matter of minutes to figure out how it warped the images. You can't use auto focus though. The camera can not read the lens. So if you have problems manually focusing this is probably not the camera lens for you. I found I would push in to focus and then move it around for the desired affect. Work initially in just the top, right, bottom and left to get the feel for the effect. Then experiment. Have Fun.

I use this lens mainly for outdoor portraiture. So far I love it and so do my customers! It does take some time to get used to how it focuses and how you adjust the settings but after that, it really is quite a lens. For such a low price, this lens should be in any photographer's arsenal. Whether you're a hobbyist or professional, there's no reason not buy this!

In the time I've had to experiment with the lensbaby, it definitely produces the effect as described. It is easy to use, and with practice and learning more about what camera settings to use, I'll get better results. Just on first use, the auto settings on my Canon 40D produce slightly bright/washed out images, but they do show the effects of the lensbaby.

It's a little tricky to use, but with practice it gets much easier. Also it's much easier stopped down. Don't mess with f/2 till you've figured out f/5.6. The dreamy quality of the pictures is wonderful, I don't know anything that can replicate it. It's so small and light you can take it anywhere. I'll always keep it in my kit.

I bought this lens to add a fun distortion to my photos and this lens was perfect for that. I takes a little getting used to when focusing on certain objects, but once you get it down you will love the look it gives. Fun lens, good price.

This is such a cool lens. Definatly worth the 150 for the things that you can do with it. The only draw back is it takes time to change the apature since it's a ring you change out. The best thing about this lens is I can take shots that have a cool look that would have taken me forever to create in Photoshop and it would have never looked as good. I bought this before the newest one came out that lets you set the distortion, I would have bought that one.
