This Paramount Miniphone to Female Hot Shoe 1' straight sync cord enables firing of any shoe mount flash (except Konica-Minolta/Sony or Nikon SB600) from a Pocket Wizard Radio Slave Receiver or Transceiver.
This cord has a hot shoe on top, and a cold shoe FOOT on the bottom that can unscrew from its 1/4-20" screw socket.

I purchased 2 of these, they are a bit on the expensive side for what they are IMO but worth it for ease of use with using off camera flash. With a 580 ex (or exII) you can directly clip the flash in and plug it into a pocket wizard, then instantly remove the flash and use it for something else without having to fumble with the PC cords. If you have a 580 ex you don't even have that option. Screws directly onto a standard umbrella holder or mono pod (to make a very basic light stick). I ordered 2 and one was defective..only because of poorly molded plastic that did not allow the flash to make full contact. [...]sent out another one and that one works great! I gave it a 4 only becuase of the cost.

Well, it does what it claims to do, a hot shoe and it connects to your PW or Elinchrom Skyport receivers.
However, I am not so keen on its high price tag... over $30 for this?? You can definitely tell it was made in China and it was not well-made. I have a bad feeling that after a period of usage, the seating (hot shoe) area will break in half.
Otherwise, it works. If it constructed better, I will give it a 4 star.

Comments about Paramount Miniphone (Pocket Wizard) to Female Hot Shoe Sync Cord - 1' Straight:
I used to have a miniphone->hotshoe cord which had a solid metal base, purchased years ago. Unfortunately, I've never found one since. This is the best of the cords I've found- the others having eventually broken their bases at one point or another. Still, the plastic bottom doesn't feel sturdy enough to me when I'm rigging on locations.

After much frustration with flash/pocket wizard inconsistencies I purchased this product and it has eliminated so many headaches. No more fiddling with the flash to pocket wizard cord to get my flash to fire!

Comments about Paramount Miniphone (Pocket Wizard) to Female Hot Shoe Sync Cord - 1' Straight:
This cord allows me to use my Canon 580 flash way off-camera reliably. The canon ETTL system for master and slave flashes is so unpredictable that I have stopped using it for weddings. Using this simple cord, I set my remote flash to manual and get perfect exposures every time. You only need to understand guide numbers for the flash and have a Pocketwizard transmitter and receiver.

I use it with my 430EXII and Elinchrom Universal receiver. Easy to use out of the box. Not quite sure about the charge, as I haven't used for an extended period. We'll see.

love being able to use this cord for flash off camera. Still, I really wish that I could plug a cord from camera to flash without needing this item, but....

If you're a pro photographer using pocket wizards you know about the frustration involved with the PC to Mini cables to connect them to your flash. With this product you never have to deal with the PC connection again! Simply mount the flash onto the hotshoe, plug it in, and you're ready to go and get a perfect connection every time! I've used this product now for 5 shoots and it works great.
