This product is great. It fits in any small bag and is barely bigger than the camera itself, yet it is able to hold a lot of weight very steadily so you don't worry about it tipping over and damaging your camera. I use it to wrap around railings, stand on an uneven surface, or even stand normally on a flat surface. It's definitely a very useful accessory and a lifesaver for those moments that you need a crystal clear shot but didn't want to lug around a bigger, traditional tripod!
I use the GorillaPod with my Canon SD450, and it screws in firmly to the tripod connector on the base. There are cameras that don't have this tripod attachment--like older versions of the Sony Cybershot--so it's worth checking if this base exists on your camera.

If your small camera has the tripod mounting socket located near or on it's outer bottom edge (not centered) you will probably find that the unbalanced weight of the camera will cause the Gorillapod to be unable to support it. The Gorillapod is simply not tight enough to handle this job. I also have the large Gorillapod for my SLR's and that one works just fine for that purpose.

Could be more robust but for the price it does it's job. Nice to have in your kit.

Comments about Joby Gorillapod Flexible Mini-Tripod/Grip for Point & Shoot Cameras - Grey/Black:
Not only is this little pod easy to pocket but it actually can protect what it holds by cradling it in a firm paw-like grip! (looks more like a claw but I like to refer to it's capabilities in a 'gentler' sense.) Great product for the clumsy photographer on the go!

The Mini tripod does an excellent job in handling
the compact camera with flex leggs to hold on to
many objects. A good buy for the money.

Comments about Joby Gorillapod Flexible Mini-Tripod/Grip for Point & Shoot Cameras - Grey/Black:
I work in a teaching and research lab and we bought a video camera for documenting student projects. Traditional tripods are fine for wide shots of bench work, but are very limited when filming procedures close up. The Gorillapod can be stuck to almost anything, pipes, other bench tops, fume-hood sashes, ring-stands, ice buckets, you name it. I think if I were making documentaries I'd want something more "professional" but for what we're doing this IS the best option.

Great little travel tripod for my smaller camera. Extremely flexible to suit lots of different surfaces or even horizontal things. Also easy to pack using minimal space, just bend it to suit the space in your case.

I use this tripod to take photos from the car, or to place in low spots without putting the camera down. I have found that it's a little bit difficult to bend just the right way and is somewhat rigid. A good addition to your traditional camera accessory case for the price anyhow.
It arrived promptly!

I use this with my Canon G12 when it is not possible to carry a tripod with me. I take mostly nature and travel photography. It serves its purpose quite well, since it is light, versatile and small enough to store about anywhere on one's person.

Decent. Built quality feels a bit cheap, but it does the job, and the price is right.

The product is lightweight and would be great for a point and shot camera. However, the tread to attach to the camera kept coming unscrewed and waiting for the camera to come off.

I use this in my classroom to video tape my one-on-one exercises with my students. I also use it when i go on trips with my husband so we can take pictures of the both of us together. I love the size and how easy it is to use with my lightweight point and shoot. It works really well on uneven terrain-where we do a lot of camping etc.
Great price!

Comments about Joby Gorillapod Flexible Mini-Tripod/Grip for Point & Shoot Cameras - Grey/Black:
I use it on table tops like one would a larger tripod or wrap it around other handy structures for group photos. Then I simply set the timer on my point and shoot and get into the photo myself. It's a great little gadget that easily fits into my pocket!
