Century Precision Optics 0HD-FESU-HVX Overview

This Century Precision Optics 0.55x Fisheye Adapter Lens is for the Panasonic HVX200 camcorder. The Fisheye produces an extraordinary degree of barrel distortion with a magnification factor of approximately 0.55x. Adding the lens to the HVX200's 13x Zoom Lens, results in a 92° horizontal angle of view.

The Fisheye exaggerates depth, pulling nearby objects closer and causing distant objects to recede into the background. Due to the lens Adapter's characteristic barrel distortion, extreme low and high-angle shots are made more dramatic. An attic crawl space induces heightened claustrophobia. A forest of tall skyscrapers bends menacingly over the audience. This lens will mount with a bayonet directly to the lens of the HVX200.

I remember a shooter had an older version of the same fisheye. He needed to fit a ring around the camcorder lens before putting the fisheye on. With this model, it's just a quick couple of twists and you're good to go. I find myself popping this on and off for a variety of different shots while on the move.

Inexpensive extreme wide or modest fish

Perfect addition to the HVX. Very simple to put on andoff with Bayonet mount. NO vignetting and cleanimage. Very happy indeed. Expertise: Professional Videographer Problems Encountered: just as with all wide angle.. hard to keep clean. Previous Equivalent Item Owned: Cheap knock off wide angles Items I Recommend: Cleaning solution and microfiber

Im currently filming with an 82 mm .4x opteka fisheye, but I find I'm not able to get close enough when filming skating. Would a .55x give me more width in shot?
Asked by: Tate
No it will not. 0.4x is wider than 0.55x.
