I use the battery in m Nikon D40 camera. It fits perfectly in the camera and charger. Charges quickly, holds a very long charge for many, many pictures. So far I do not have a single complaint about the battery.

After driving around in widening circles for a little over two weeks trying to find a local store that carried batteries for my Nikon D60, I ordered two from B&H. I should have shopped here first.

While local retailers had these on backorder, or non-OEM replacements, B&H had just what I was looking for.

The best part is that I had them within three days; no delays for "processing".

The batteries charge within 90 minutes and hold their charge for a surprisingly long time.

A battery is like a parachute; it is only exciting when it doesn't work. I'm happy to report that this battery is not exciting. I purchased this battery as a replacement for a non-Nikon "spare" battery which I received with my new Nikon D60. The non-Nikon battery refused to recharge, leaving me with down time on my camera. This battery is well worth the slightly higher price you pay to get the real thing. It charges quickly and holds the charge reliably. What more can you ask?

I have the Nikon D60 camera which is amazing. I was surprised by the life of this battery. I go shooting at the zoo and after 1000+ shots this battery wasn't even halfway drained with constant use of the LCD.

I took two of these batteries with me for 4 days inside the Grand Canyon. I came out 700 pictures later, still using the first battery.

I use this battery in my Nikon D40X which i've owned a little over a year now.
It's always been reliable when charged and has a great battery life if you break in the battery the way you're supposed to. (charge fully before using and drain completely before charging again for the first few weeks you own it) You'll be quite satisfied.
But a fair warning: the battery that came with my camera died suddenly without any logical explanation after about a year (My guess is it shorted but that still makes no sense). It's exactly the same as this one so don't be surprised if one day in the far future it cuts off and you are left stranded with one or (in the worst case scenario) zero batteries.
Also it dies pretty quickly if you leave it plugged into your computer but this is true for any battery.

Nikon brand battery is much better than an off brand. The Nikon EN-EL9 recharges quickly and last for hours. I wouldn't buy anything else.

This is a back up for the prime battery in a D40X. I have taken several hundred photos one one charge,therefore the backup has not neede to be used, but I know its ready when needed.

Always need more batteries especially on longer trips. I work in the back country and don't always have access to a charger. Excellent price compared to the canadian price.

Bought one as a back-up battery for a week long canoe trip - easily gets 500 photos with some previewing of images. Couldn't ask for more (and be reasonable)!

I use this spare battery with my Nikon D60. Although it says it is only compatible with the D40 and D40x, it is also exactly the same battery shipped with the D60!
Even if you aren't going on vacation or any long trip, having two batteries is great because you always have a fresh battery if you charge them as soon as they're depleted. Also, Nikon says that they will not lose their charge with repeated partial charges. It's very lightwieght and charges very quickly (a fully depleted battery charges in about 1 to 1 1/2 hours).
The only con I can think of is that it's a tad expensive, especially when compared to cheap third-party batterys. However, I'd much rather spend a few more bucks to have a genuine Nikon product, and not have to worry about my camera exploding or anything.

I recently purchased this battery from B & H Photo Video as a backup to the one that came with my Nikon D60 camera. Like the one that came with the camera, it is an excellent battery. It takes barely 90 minutes to recharge and depending on how you take your photos, it will give you between 400-500 shots with that one charge. It does costs a little more than the generic brands, but it's also more dependable, regardless if you are an advanced photographer or a beginner. It is small, lightweight and the cost is relatively inexpensive for a Nikon product ([$]).
