Battery is smaller than I thought it would be. I thought it might be too bulky but just the opposite. Just the right size. Nice and lightweight.Have been using the battery for a few weeks now. Charged it completely right out of the box and used it for the first week and a half with my new Sony DCR-SR45. I have been letting it sit for the past week and no discharge of the battery what so ever. Still has the same amount of recording time as it did when I shut it off after Christmas. Doesn't mean it won't discharge over longer period of time. Will have to wait and see.Was worried that I would need to buy a seperate charger but will charge while attached to the back of the camera with cameras charging cable (and much quicker than what the specs on the battery package said). Follow directions on camera instructions. Keeps expenses and having to carry around extras on trips low.Use the NP-FH70 as the primary and the NP-FH40 (which came with the camera) as a backup. You should get at least 4hrs from the FH70 opposed to about 60-80 minutes from the FH40 and believe me, 4hrs is a lot of video. Just ask someone who has had to sit through someones wedding video.Well worth the $$$. [...]

This review written on Sept. 14. 2007: I purchased the SONY NPFH70 H series battery (on 28March 2007 from bhphotovideo.com) to be used with my newSONY DCR-HC38 camcorder I rate BHPhotovideo in high esteem. But for SONY, i do have reservations, especially about thisproduct. After around 5 months of problem-free use, this batterystopped working completely. Charging was impossible and sowas its use. Through a friend in the U.S, we talked to SONYUSA (back and forth) and found out that the 'warranty hadexpired' and that I have to shell out $60 for repair.Although the warranty is limited to 1 year (limited warranty- please see 'Item Includes' in this web page) and I did notdamage it ( as in put it into the fire/water/freeze it/dropit/etc) SONY thinks that it does not need to honor itswarranty. Whatever happened to values that this company offered in thepast ...... the e-mail address of the SONY BoardChairman ....seems like the only way of making complaintslike these heard.... or is there another way? Many thanksfor reading.
Expertise: Advanced Amateur
Problems Encountered: ...just stopped working completely after around 5 months ofuse refused to charge and could hold absolutely no charge;have to depend on the low-capacity standard NPFH30 battery. The place where I currently work and reside (Azerbaijan) hasa SONY authorized service center but they said they couldnot repair such a battery.
Previous Equivalent Item Owned: A 1995 Canon 8mm camcorder with no problems

This was included by B&H in the purchase of a Sony HDR-DC9 Handycam. I now have a back-up battery to go with the one the camera came with.

Small, compact, and inexpensive. Only sony batteries provide the quality you can count on. The avrage life of the batterie in my sr11 is around 2 hours. One thing, they are not compatible with the newer sony camcorders. Otherwise a great batterie.

Comments about Sony NP-FH70 H Series Info-Lithium Battery Pack:
It's ok. Put it on my HDR-SR10 camcorder thinking I would get between 3 and 4 hours of recording time based on other reviews, but full charge battery only provides 150 minutes (2.5 hours). Seems to be ok for me but I have to carry the original NP-FH50 (90 minutes fully charged) as a back-up.

Comments about Sony NP-FH70 H Series Info-Lithium Battery Pack:
I bought this to get some added battery life for a wedding shoot and it worked perfectly! I tripled the battery life of the stock battery (NP-FH30) and ran out of hard drive space before running out of battery life. It is noticeably heavier and about twice as thick as the NP-FH30, but such is the compromise for longer life.

Comments about Sony NP-FH70 H Series Info-Lithium Battery Pack:
I purchase the NP-FH70 to augment the FH60 that was shipped with a Sony HDR-HD7 video camera purchased a few years ago. Although both batteries are the same physical size, the FH70 provides longer run time. I appreciate that it works as advertised -- no problems installing or removing the battery and the power remaining function works well. OEM batteries don't always perform as well and don't justify the cost difference.

DCR-HC96 Sony Camcorder. Usually record from 30 to 60 min. This battery allows me to record more than two tapes. Haven't had the battery long enough to comment on longevity.

Comments about Sony NP-FH70 H Series Info-Lithium Battery Pack:
Lasts a lot longer than the original NP-FH50 that I have. I did buy a Fh100 on an online auction site from some hong kong company and it didn't even work! Its worth the money to buy a quality battery that will last. Don't waste your time with cheap imitations, buy this battery.
