The Bogen/Manfrotto 190XDB Tripod Legs builds on the success of the 3001 series, but has been redesigned to offer better ergonomics of the leg-angle release mechanism. It can reach a maximum working height of 57.5" (146 cm), and folds up to 21" (53.5 cm). Ideal for use with cameras up to SLR size with medium pro zoom lens attached.
With less features than the 190XB or 190XBPRO and a simpler design, this model is a 0.5 lb lighter, and a more economical choice.

Having been a longtime "heavy duty" tripod user, I was expecting to be disappointed with this tripod. But, I wanted to try a lighter pod that I could easily attach to my photopack that wouldn't hinder my maneuverability in tough outdoor situations. I was amazed at how much I liked this tripod! Sure, it feels flimsy compared to my usual beasts, but like other manfrottos I have owned, it is so well made that it performs astoundingly well. For multi minute night exposures it would help to weight it a bit, but to stabilize telephoto shots and have razor sharp landscapes, this little beauty just performs admirably. It fits perfectly on my pack, and doesn't weigh a ton. I have it paired with a heavy-duty ball head and couldn't be more pleased. My heave duty pods haven't left the studio since I got this.

Ehh...it works.
Manfrotto makes much better tripods than this one, but I needed something cheap yet more professional than I had prior (a cheap Sunpak consumer variety tripod), and this did the trick.

Manfrotto makes much better tripods than this one, but I needed something cheap yet more professional than I had prior (a cheap Sunpak consumer variety tripod), and this did the trick.
I like it because of the fact that I can attach it to my slider due to it's removable head, and that it is MORE sturdy than my previous tripod (do not assume that I said it was "sturdy"...just MORE sturdy).
However, I get sick of the turn-screw leg locks, the incredible light-weight body which jumps with the slightest breeze, and the fact that the rubber feet don't have claws for shooting outdoors.
However, I gave it 3 stars instead of 2 because these are all things I knew i was sacrificing in advance by purchasing this tripod. I could've gotten a better model, but I cheaped out. Not a big surprise that I'm not 100% sold on this one. But it does get the job done.

Awesome tripod for lightweight packing and versatility. Only con is that you have to buy a leveling head to use with it unless your only using it on level floors and flat surfaces. I use mine outdoors and in the woods.

I find them easier than the quick release levers, and they are somewhat lighter, and less expensive. It is not as tall as I computed, but is working well for my angled birding scope.

I haven't had the tripod too long, but it seems very nice, well made, and most importantly for me, it has a great range of motion and is extremely stable. I was originally concerned about how well the legs would lock down (from their pivot point) but they hold their position just fine. Great for moving around my set, works perfectly with my Manfrotto Junior Geared Head. Excellent quality for the price!

This tripod is lightweight yet very sturdy. The locks on the legs are they type that you twist to lock, which sometimes can take a little longer to set up and down, but they are more secure than others I have used. The legs also adjust to a very wide, low position for shooting close to the ground. I use this tripod with my DSLR for shooting both stills and videos. I would recommend this tripod.

I do film outside and carry that thing a lot. With the 701 head it is a good compromise between weight and function. Strong enough for my 3kg video camera and strong enough in wind and pan with the liquid head.

The 190XDB is an excellent value. It holds my DLSR with 18-135 perfectly steady with the 494 head. It's light, sets up and takes down easily and quickly, and travels OK on a slingpack. As a casual photographer, it's all I need in a tripod.

Very light tripod. Can take it anywhere. The only con would be that length wise it is too big to fit under my camera backpack. The legs stick out and bang on things if not careful. I know you can't really get a smaller tripod with the same height, as the height is perfect!

Purchased two of this product along with two 701 fluid Heads use with our Canon GL 2 cameras. We needed a product that packs easily for travel and yet is sturdy enough to take the demands of sports videography. We have used it twice so far at small events and it proved to be study yet light enough for quick and easy location movement. We are looking forward to evaluating how it holds up to 12 hour days of on field activity.

This tripod is awesome. It is sturdy, and all the legs lock nicely in place. There isn't that feeling of worrying about your hig end DSLR or video camera tipping over that you would get with cheaper tripods.

Using this with a 5D Mk II, works very well. I purchased it as a B&H kit with a 494 Mini Ball Head. Great combination, I've been surprised at how sturdy this set up is as the tripod is quite light.
