This is a well build product, I don't know how it could 'fall apart' like another review had mentioned, unless you really over-loaded it. It works for me, does the job, and is a must to balance the merlin. Works well with a cheap light stand or c-stand.

The Merlin is not that heavy until you spend about 2 hours trying to balance the stabilizer. Tripod + Docking Bracket saves you lots of energy and also minimizes your own effect on the merlin being out of balance.

I bought this Docking bracket when I was using the merlin and it snapped into two pieces and my Merlin came crashing to the ground. It destroyed my merlin which Tiffen replaced and destroyed my merlin accessory plate that they did not replace.
They have admitted to a design flaw and until they change it I WOULD NOT buy this product.

This device simply mounts on the top spud of a C-Stand (or the custom Merlin Stand) and allows you to safely rest your Merlin with your camera attached out of the way without having to hold it. It has two twist knobs that tighten onto the spud and a top post that matches up with the hole in the handle of the Merlin. This product also can be useful when making adjustments to your Merlin. Looks professional on the set!
