    The Canon LP-E4 Rechargeable Lithium-ion Battery, has a capacity of 2300 mAh, so it is possible to shoot up to 2200 shots at normal temperatures on a single battery charge. The battery is also more compact and lighter in weight than previous battery models.

    The LP-E4 Battery also communicates with the EOS-1D Mark III & EOS-1Ds Mark III, so that you can always check the remaining capacity (marks in six levels and percentage in 1% increments), shutter count and recharge performance (3 levels) on the camera's power source info screen.

    The Canon LC-E4 Battery Charger can charge two LP-E4 battery packs simultaneously and provides a charging time of about 120 minutes when recharging one battery. The LC-E4 charger is also compatible with DC power (12V/24V), when it is connected to a car power socket with the optional CB-570 Car Battery Cable.
