We bought these in conjunction with the diffuser screens and a backdrop for taking shots for our magazine, and I am EXTREMELY pleased with their performance. These are NOT high end lights, but at 250 watts each, they provide enough lighting for my needs, and all at a very reasonable cost.
These are tungsten-based, so you have to white balance your camera, but that takes only a minute and you are off and running. Another feature is that i thought these extended up to 6 feet, but in reality it's more like 8-9 feet, so it's easy to get lighting above your subject.
These are also portable and easy to use. I wish the bases were larger, just because I'm afraid they'll fall over, but they are still pretty stable. Alo, of course, these get HOT, so be careful!
Ultimately, it's hard to argue with the cost. Makes a great primary or good backup setup.

I needed some light for jewelry photos and I have always been happy with my Impact products in the past, so I tried this one.
Stand construction is ok and the light brackets are as well. The supplied bulbs we a disappointment as one of the two burned out in less than 2 minutes of use.
So buy backup bulbs if you get this and get the more expensive brands as they last longer.

Comments about Impact Tungsten Two-Floodlight Kit with 6' Stands:
I use these lights for closeup photo tent illumination. They are very well made and easy to adjust. Put out intense light for any type of closeup work. The tripod base is 28" on a side giving it stability at any height up to the maximum of 6' BUT, could be a kick/trip hazard in tight quarters (or if you have big feet). Overall, a very usable product that I would recommend.

I bought these lights for some portrait and product photography and they are great!
They might be a little too bright for product photography but with a diffuser, it will work just fine.

Lighting at home for portraits and still life.
Considering the prize, the build quality is excellent, yet it is light to carry around and simple and quick to adjust.
The light bulb burnt out after approx 5 min (which I have not taken into consideration for this rating).

Comments about Impact Tungsten Two-Floodlight Kit with 6' Stands:
I picked these lights up as a set of general-purpose photo lights. Primarily for shooting miniatures but I'll be using them for other things as well.
For the price these lights are great. They set up quickly and work as you'd expect. They are a little light-duty but again for the price you can't complain.

I normally shoot outdoors and underwater so this is my first studio type setup. Everything was as described and I am very happy with the flowers I have been shooting with these lights and a tent. Bulbs are very fragile and [...] I suggest that you buy extra bulbs at the same time - especially if you live somewhere you can't get them locally, like here on Maui.Bottom line: Great for the price.

Great price...Small, but sturdy base
However, has a semi-short power cord, and I had to buy seperate umbrella mounts.

Comments about Impact Tungsten Two-Floodlight Kit with 6' Stands:
I got this kit as a X'mas gift in '07. I am learning about studio photography and this is an excellent "starter" kit. You can get a 3 light kit, but this will work just as well. I like the stands that came with the kit. Very durable and easy to lock/unlock and stretch. *** Just make sure you put weights (I use a 15 pound weights - 5 lbs is fine) at the bottom to hold it down if you're going to be taking photos of kids (they don't stay still and run around) to prevent any accidents!!! *** I haven't had one happen yet...knock-on-wood!The Flood Lights are bright and for a total of 500 watts, it can get a bit hot (for the people).Just make sure to turn off the lights IF you and your subject are not ready yet. This helps conserve power, heat and will provide long lasting use of the bulbs before they eventually stop working. If you're just like me, starting out, this is worth it! I know...I know...you're saying it's easy for me to say because I got it as a gift! [...]
