The Custom Brackets Digital PRO-SV Bracket Kit is the studio version of the Digital PRO. It is the ideal choice for use with digital SLR cameras that stay mounted on a tripod, e.g. in the studio. It allows the photographer to rotate the camera vertically and horizontally quickly and easily in studio settings. When using studio strobes or continuous lighting, the Digital PRO-SV Bracket on a tripod is a perfect match.
The included QR tripod quick release receiver clamp attaches to the tripod, and allows for quick and easy mounting and unmounting of the bracket from the tripod.
The CMP Universal Camera Mounting Plate is a reversible camera plate that works with all cameras, with or without a vertical grip. The camera screw is also adjustable to match cameras of different depths.

I am using this product for studio work on top of a tripod and for field work on a monopod.
The bracket allows you to switch between horizontal and vertical format with just one move of your hand. It makes things easy and fast. I can't even imagine how could I work without it in the past.
On the other hand the biggest drawback is stability. The rotating part is slightly waggling. It is not a problem when you use it on a monopod but can be an imperfection on a very stable studio tripod - it simply degrades your very stable and expensive studio tripod and head a waste of money.
I recommend this product for daily work because it really makes things easy and fast, but I do not recommend it for long exposure shots or for long tele lenses.

Very good concept, but lacks the stability that is needed when used on a tripod....the parts when put together allows quite a bit of flex, and makes my camera unstable.....I am not sure if I should use it in low light, because of the movements it allows, only if it doesn't flex, I will give it a 4 stars instead of the 3 stars, I like it, but the set backs I encounter, would stop me to recommending it to friends who wants stability with a tripod....I mean I could use a GITZO 3541LS (without centre post) and this thing would still flex and move....if you want a way around it, you will need a shutter release, and mirror lock to improve with this thing,
it is not cheap either,
but I will still keep it to make shooting with a Hasselblad easier, I hope I am right to keep it, until after my next big shoot with this set up.......
another problem I encountered is that the palm grip was sold separately, and after getting it, I would need to unscrew the 2 bottom hex screws that holds the bottom plate in-place, in order to install the palm grip.....
the 2 hex screws on the bottom were so stiffly held in place with excessive amount of screw locking fluids, which left me no choice but to bring it back for an exchange..... and I was still unable to unscrew them, and had to ask the BH staff's help to do it...... which was not easy for da 6-foot man as well, hey.....Custom bracket, you better do a better job on your QC to not let this kind of little things screw up a product.....
I am willing to pay for nice stuffs, but please make them work in the first place, it only takes more careful QC

Comments about Custom Brackets Digital PRO-SV Bracket Kit:
I bought this after seeing Yuri Arcurs video with this and the Manfrotto Neotec monopod setup. After fumbling with the PRO-SV instructions, I was never able to attach the 'Palm Grip' attachement because the bracket's bottom hex screws are so tightly screwed-in I could not get it apart, nor did I want to force it on a [$] niche bracket.I spent one day out shooting street style photos with the PRO-SV on the neotec and have to say I hated it. I found myself fumbling with the Neotec constantly and actually found the whole setup got in the way as opposed to helped my shooting style. In the end I will save this setup for in studio shoots where sharpness is important but I still need to move about.Skip it if you're a street photographer. The PRO-SV itself is well built an dcool, but has a few applications that should be the base of your decision.

Comments about Custom Brackets Digital PRO-SV Bracket Kit:
I have previously purchased a Custom Bracket CB Junior and used it on every event I go to take pictures but despite the fact that the CB Junior has a flash arm that can be turned so that when the camera is vertical it will stay up, it is not convenient at all so I decided to get this Kit which can be installed on my CB Junior (you need to have the CB Junior Kit) and now I have my bracket with rotating camera for vertical shots and it is just perfect for me. Also I can use this one on top of my tripod so when I use my Ring Flash the camera just rotates not the whole ring-flash-camera rig which can be very dangerous for some tripods/heads to hold such weight hanging on the side of the head.

Simple, accurate, looking fabolous, strong solid, great materials.
It's even still better to be attach without a pod, because it helps to hold the camera.
Absolutely satisfied. Great product.

I don't know how I got along without a pivoting bracket before. This one has a silky action that makes the shift from landscape to portrait smooth and non-jarring for your equipment. Combine it with a hand grip (purchased separately) for a truly stable platform.

Works as advertised. Don't have to mess with the ball head and end up with a lopsided tripod setup. Shifting from landscape to portrait is effortless.

solid piece of gear. once you attach you're pretty much committed to using a tripod or monopod - although there is quick release for taking camera off the mono/tri pod -which is good - the camera becomes quite heavy with the bracket attached when handholding.

Comments about Custom Brackets Digital PRO-SV Bracket Kit:
I bought this so that I could mount the Digital Pro SV bracket by Custom Brackets on ballheads with Arca-Swiss type quick release systems.
Took about 2 mins to replace the plate on the bottom of the bracket with this plate; all the hardware was included.
For switching from horizontal to vertical while staying over the tripod's center-of-balance, this set-up works very nicely.

Comments about Custom Brackets Digital PRO-SV Bracket Kit:
I was looking for a device that would allow me to rotate the camera from horizontal to vertical orientation without flopping the ball head over to the side and un-balancing the tripod. This item totally fits the bill. Not cheap, but well-made and works well. Also, it holds the camera very solidly. BTW, there's an Arca-Swiss plate that mounts on the bottom if you use that type of quick release system.
If you need this kind of capability, it's a very good choice
