The Westcott 40.5" 5-in-1 Collapsible Reflector Kit is versatile in the field and in the studio, providing shadow-lightening detail in your subject, using available, or studio lighting. It starts out as a translucent white disc -- perfect for softening direct sun, or lights without diffusion. Use the removable, reversible zippered slipcover to reflect light into shadow areas of your subject. Your choice of color -- silver, gold, white, black mix -- will be determined by the lighting conditions, and your personal preference.
This 40.5" (1 m) disc is suitable for 3/4 length portraits, and medium still-life setups. It folds down to 1/3 its open size, and comes with a storage sleeve. The kit includes a pivoting arm and 7.5' stand to hold the disc where needed, which is especially useful if you are working without an assistant.

In my opinion, there is not a huge difference between reflectors. This one is great. I love that it is so easily converted. It is the perfect size for just about all of my uses (portrait and wedding work). I use it alone more than half the time. The stand is a little flimsy, but it works fine.

Bad.
- Zippers are not good quality and they tend to jam.
- The arm joint didn't have enough strength to keep the arm up and it wouldn't tighten anymore. It required some rigging and disassembling of the joint, moving couple of washers around until I got it to work.

I think overall the kit works really well. You might need sand bags while positioning it at certain angels, but that's totally reasonable. The Stand and arm's quality is good. the clamps grab the reflector tightly. I'm pretty happy with it.
The 5-1 reflector is a also made with good quality materials and flexible. zipper is good doesn't catch.

I bought a 5 in one reflector in [@] at 148 $ without any review. The thing [...] looks very fragile. After watching my error on the floor I ordered fron B&H the 5 in 1 from Wescott. Actually is a kit[...]sturdy stand, dvd, the arm which rotate on ball head can be put in any position. You just miss a sand bag for outdoor photography. I recommend this item.

We are using this product for inside and outside production. The reflectors have really enhanced our productions and video work. It has given us more control and flexibility over the type of light we are working with. It's compact and folds away, so storage for this kit is easy to find, it's great.

I tried to use the stand with the reflector inside and it was kind of shaky fully extended. I purchased the reflector to use outside and I knew the stand would not work for what I wanted it for with even a slight wind but lucky for me it was a big shoot and I had an assistant to hold it for me. It worked fine and if I had it to do all over again I would purchase it all over again. I will be able to use the stand indoors :)

This is my first reflector and stand..I found that in order to fully use the product you will need some weight added to the bottom of the stand.(Maybe a sandbag).Otherwise the stand with reflector is top heavy and tips over..

I am trying to set up a studio in my home and wanted the big 40" reflecter to get a better bounce for the ounce. With big windows it is great to have the diffuser so I can use less flash.

I like the kit. I have used it just once. I was disappointed that the arm clips are plastic. but so far so good. I am careful when storing it, so the clip/clamps don't break off.
for the price it is awesome. The stand is very sturdy and the reflector it's self is great. So I am very happy with it.

Great for what i need it for. Serves its purpose well. Would like to see it constructed from better material. Also, stand needs to be a bit heavier to support reflector when it's extended/raised.

This set up is LARGE. You need space to work with this. I need time to learn how to use it properly. The quality is top notch. The reflector material seems very well made and easy to change to the different sides. The stand will keep the reflector in place easily with the spring loaded clamps on the arm. Comes with a good instructional DVD.

Does everything it advertises. Product is built well. Instructional video is very basic. The menu on the video only lists the last chapter about using the 5-in-1 outside. Other chapters cover other products by Westcott. There is a hidden section on the DVD that covers the 5-in-1 for indoor use during one of the light demonstrations.

I use this primarily in my portrait studio, and find it to be very flexible. The reflector size is a nice compromise between being large enough to be useful while not being so big you cannot maneuver it through the room.
The stand is fairly decent, but tends to tip easily (sandbag fixed that).
