Such a small price for a big addition to my lighting scheme. I'm using it to produce a gentle fill light by aiming it into a gold reflector. As a simple shooter who has to move with my young clients, the combination of on camera flash (inside a tiny softbox) and this soft golden overall light, I'm getting great results. It fires every time and after I turn it on and aim it, I forget it. Love that I don't have to be a techie to operate it. So simple.

Comments about SP Studio Systems Midi Slave DC Flash:
This affordable unit doesn't require a powered sync cable but does have to be in sight of your camera's hot shoe mounted or built-in flash. It synchronizes best for me when my camera's flash is set on half power.

This thing is great. When I read the previous reviews I didn't really believe the versatility of this little flash. But it's the coolest little flash ever. compact, versatile, and inexpensive. Perfect for areas that need additional light, and you don't need a larger kit to get it. Great for back and fill.

Love it! I use it with Gorilla pods to get low to the ground but just above grass etc, plus you can wrap them around limbs and things with this flash.

This is a handy little additional light for on location shooting. It works as a slave but it is not necessary to put it on a hotshoe. It can sit on the ground or be attached to a light stand. It is little but plenty bright. You can even use it on your camera hotshoe as a flash although I wouldn't use it for that. It is a great addition to your bag of tricks.

I've been impressed with these little lights as kickers. Well-made, sturdy, very sensitive to light. Plus, they have a built in stand (nice!) and even a screw mount which was not expected!

Product seems to be ok so far although I've not used it to any great degree. Is seem to be pretty solid. The mounting boss twists in its plastic base so improvement is needed here.

Comments about SP Studio Systems Midi Slave DC Flash:
This little flash is wonderful! I love that it's so small and portable - no worries or hassles to set it up. It's just a matter of popping it out of my bag and it's ready to go! The only reason why I didn't give it 5 stars is because sometimes it is a little annoying that it goes off with absolutely any flash. Since I'm a wedding photographer, there are tons of little point and shoot cameras at weddings - so it goes off a lot even when I'm not ready for it yet. But overall, it's great... I am learning to live with 'sharing' it with other cameras :-).

This little slave puts a nice, warm glow behind a subject (great for bridals/couples). I've even used it as a main light for head shots (just for fun) and it actually worked great (again, just for casual...not enough life to last for a full portrait session, plus you'd prolly feel a little funny using it, haha).

I use this flash as a kicker and rim light together with colored gels. This is a great little addition to my camera bag while on location. Very simple to use and yet powerful enough to get the job done! I would definately buy another 2! You just can't beat it for the price of this unit!

I have used it as a background flash to create a rim light at the head and shoulders of my subject. For the price it's a nice addition to my lighting arsenal.
