The Mac mini Desktop Computer from Apple is a quiet and compact desktop computer. The system, only 6.5" square and 2" high, is a great option for users who would like an inexpensive, yet fully-functional, desktop Mac.
The computer ships with Apple's popular iLife '09 software suite which includes iTunes, iPhoto, iMovie HD, iDVD, iWeb, and GarageBand. Also included is Apple's innovative Front Row application, which allows you to connect your computer to a home entertainment center for use as a media player.
The system is powered by 1.83GHz Intel Core 2 Duo and includes 1GB of RAM, a 80GB hard drive, a slot-loading CD-RW/DVD-ROM Combo Drive, Bluetooth, AirPort Extreme Wi-Fi, and integrated Intel GMA 950 graphics. Mac OS X Leopard is the installed operating system.

After a horrible experience with a Vista system I bought last year, I vowed to never but a Windows PC again. I just couldn't pass up this little gem. I have a small photography business and this Mac Mini has been a wonderful addition to my workflow. I cannot begin to tell you how nice it is to actually sit down to work on a computer knowing that it will actually work! No more blue screens of death, no more '...you're about to click the mouse...are you sure?' and most of all no more 'Gee, it looks like Vista didn't keep your monitor calibration loaded again. You're going to have to resend your images to be printed...again!". The Mac Mini is beautifully designed and has been very reliable. The performance is decent and the price was right.

Allows you to easily and inexpensively convert from a PC to a Mac. Plug and play with all of your current peripherals (monitor, keyboard & mouse, printer, etc.). Once you turn the Mac mini on, it walks you through set-up and connecting to the internet, all very simple. Get this computer if you want to make the switch!

I am new to Mac environment so still getting the feel for it. It is not the biggest baddest collection of hardware, but for the price it is a good bang and so so tiny.
The one drawback I hit is my own fault for not paying attention, in that it is only a CD-RW and DVD player, so without buying an external DVD burner can only make CD backups etc.

I think BH photo has the best price for this product. The mac mini is awesome for somebody that wants to use the mac for surfing, word processing/excel/powerpoint, listening to music, photo editing and light use of editing home movies. I bought it because I don't want to get bogged down with viruses and all the slowness associated to Windows/Vista. I also have kids and the mac mini is perfect as a family home computer. All in all, I'm satisfied with it. I'm now thinking of upgrading the memory to 2G.

I purchased this Mac for the sole purpose of connecting it to our television and having it be our universal media player. It also doubles as a big-screen web browser, DVD player, and video editing tool. While it might not be a powerhouse of computing, this little box does more than well, and I'm so pleased to have such an effective and TINY Mac for so cheap. Hook up a big external USB hard drive for storage, and you're set.

I just bought this from B&H and I have to say, I'm impressed! Although this is my first Mac, I have been using PCs (with DOS, OS2, Windows, Linux, you name it!) for the last 18 years, so I did not expect to be surprised by a new OS. Well, I was wrong, Mac OS X Leopard is the better OS I have been seen in my entire life, very well designed and intuitive. Like the iPhone, the level of care that Apple puts to details is simply incredible.
The machine itself is a little and beautiful piece of engineering, very quiet and quite powerful for the price. The only thing I see as a disadvantage is that it is very hard to make upgrades to the hardware. I upgraded the original memory from 1GB to 2GB by buying the compatible memory pack sold here for less than 30 bucks, and I had to use a kitchen knife to get the cover opened! Otherwise, it was a relatively simple process, and certainly way cheaper than the standard Apple's upgrade. I have been using the mini for iPhone development and so far, it works like a charm!
To finish, a tip: expend some extra dollars and buy a Mac-compatible keyboard, the experience is not the same with a regular PC one.

I had never used Mac till now and wanted to explore what is it all about and didn't wanted to spend too much money so opted for the Mini.
The product is amazing and now I am becoming a big apple fan. It's very easy to setup and I have plugged into my 37" TV and use a wireless keyboard and mice and had been working very well for me.
Overall this is a very good value for money and would recommend to anyone who wants to get their feet wet with Mac.
