This is an awesome stereo condenser mic, especially at this price. I'm using it atop my Blackmagic 4K Cinema Camera and it greatly enhances the audio experience.

Solid Microphone for the price

I've been using this the Audio-Technica microphone for a few weeks. It replaced my Azden SMX-10 shotgun mic that developed a static sound after after 2 years of use. The A-T mic does a solid job of recording outdoors with little or no post processing required. I'm quite pleased with the performance thus far with my Panasonic video camera. The soft sided pouch is a nice extra too.

Is this battery powered or externally powered? One review mentions changing the battery ("required needle-nose pliers"); but the specs here say "Power Requirements = 2-10VDC plug-in power". So which is it?

According to the Audio-Technica page for the Pro 24-CM underneath the "Features" tab; You can use it with an LR44 battery in microphone inputs that are not equipped with plugin power. How does the sound quality of this mic compare to the Audio-Technica AT8024?

This mic is stereo only, and has a little less low end frequency response than the AT8024, but otherwise the overall sound quality is very similar.

The basic answer is yes. This microphone is compatible with the 3.5mm audio input jack on that model according to the specs on this website. As for mounting, I cannot say. I've only mounted this mic on a stand.

Rico, it should work just fine, see page 84 of your manual. However, note that I do not see a hot-shoe mount on your canon model. Which means it would have to be attached to your camera somehow (rubberbands) or hand-held, which would not be optimal.

Will this mic work with Nikon D3200? I'm not sure whether D3200 has a plug-in power supply, but it does has external stereo mini-pin jack (3.5mm diameter).
