The Epson Stylus Pro 7880 Large-Format Printer incorporates a durable, 24-inch wide printer engine design and uses UltraChrome K3 Ink technology - now enhanced with Epson's breakthrough Vivid Magenta pigments - to produce archival prints with amazing color accuracy, gloss level, and scratch resistance; all while providing consistently stable colors that significantly outperforms other professional printers. Furthermore, the use of three levels of black ink provides neutral or toned black-and-white prints with impressively high density levels and virtually no metamerism or bronzing.
With an even higher level of ink droplet accuracy than found on previous Epson printer models, the MicroPiezo AMC print head has been enhanced with an exclusive ink repelling coating technology to dramatically reduce nozzle clogging. And, when combined with the Epson AccuPhoto HD screening technology you'll be able to print at an astonishing resolution of 2880 x 1440 dpi, and obtain extremely accurate fine color blends and photographic transitions.
Capable of handling virtually any media type, in roll or cut-sheet, up to 24-inches wide, the Epson Stylus Pro 7880 sets the standard for professional media use. It also incorporates a front-loading, straight-through path capable of handling fine art paper and heavyweight media up to 1.5 mm thick. Never before have Creative Professionals had such a powerful tool, (whether producing sellable color or black-and-white photography, fine art reproduction, or producing color accurate proofs for client approvals), allowing them to produce their vision without compromise.

Comments about Epson Stylus Pro 7880 Large-Format Printer:
I'm in the business of converting photographs into simulated artworks such a "Oils", "Watercolors" and "Sketches". I already own an Epson RX680 all in one and an Epson R1900 13" wide-format. I have found both to be exceptionally fine printers so when I found I needed something larger, I bought the Epson 7880 without hesitation. To say I'm happy with my decision would be a serious understatement.
In my work, I print on canvas, watercolor paper and other types of paper. With the 7880, results have been outstanding on every type of material I use.
I should add, I'm 72 years old and seriously "techno-challenged". The included instructions are wonderful! The only help I needed was for someone to help lift the printer onto the stand.
I was printing pictures within 3 hrs from the time the printer came off the truck.
Pros - excellent results on all types of printing media.
Easy loading and changing of materials.
Excellent instructional materials.
Quiet operation.
Cons - Haven't found any.

Comments about Epson Stylus Pro 7880 Large-Format Printer:
this printer is a huge improvement to earlier Epson models. The inks are very vibrant and keep their color and the image print quality has been excellent. As with all inkjets, it likes to be run frequently so I run a print even when I don't need just to keep the nozzles wet. I use Epson presentation matte and enhanced matte for my art work. i do wish that for the price they would give you a RIP but it is another money stream for Epson. Highly recommend this printer. I am looking to buy a larger Epson 9880 this year.

Comments about Epson Stylus Pro 7880 Large-Format Printer:
Produces great frame-ready prints. I'm producing a museum exhibition and couldn't have asked for a better-quality printer, prints, and an easy network setup. The one slight drawback is that it has a rather large footprint, but it is a 24in printer.

Comments about Epson Stylus Pro 7880 Large-Format Printer:
There are three things that stand out about this printer. First and foremost is the output. The color and resolution is outstanding right out of the box. After loading the cartridges and running a test print, there were no adjustments needed to color or alignment. Allowing me to get up and running in about an hour –from box to first printout.
Setup was very easy using the Epson supplied print drivers and the USB connection. I did have an issue with trying to attach it via the network connection, but I think it’s an issue with permissions on our network, not the network setup from Epson since it located the printer on the network and correctly showed the printer status.
Lastly, the print driver has all of the Epson paper types and sizes built in allowing for easy and fast setup after paper changes. Everything about the printer is well designed, well thought out and relatively intuitive to use. I hope the long term reliability is good. I print a lot of large B&W and color photographs and computer artwork, so my usage is not as high as a 'high volume" shop that would be printing posters, signage and proofs.
Epson engineers really did their homework with this printer and I can’t say enough about the print quality –stunning. I would highly recommend the 7880.
