Comments about Sony BP-U60 Lithium-Ion Battery:
Honestly, it's a battery that does what it's suppose to do. I really don't understand why it's so expensive. It's not expensive in the grand scheme of things but it's waaay too much for what it does. IMO, it shouldn't be anymore than $150.

I use this battery with my PMW-F3 sony camera.
I also use other sony batteries for my digital camera and digital video cam. All SONY batteries last longer and get charged fast. But they are somewhat expensive.

Great battery!
Twice the run time of the Sony bpu30.
Battery is bigger and adds more weight.
Very expensive for what it is.

Comments about Sony BP-U60 Lithium-Ion Battery:
Sony's Bp-U60 gave me around 4 hours of continuous recording in most cases on the recent shoot I bought it for. It's a bit of a heavy brick, and sticks out past the end of the EX-3 body, but when you absolutely must be rolling with ample recording time, there is no substitute for this battery. It has a great fuel-gague indicator on the back as well.

Comments about Sony BP-U60 Lithium-Ion Battery:
I use this battery with my Sony EX1R video camera. It's been a really reliable battery, and reaches a full charge more quickly than I expected.
I think that my camera uses a lot of battery power. Therefore, I can rely on this battery for about three hours of shooting, but that's it. It's definitely necessary to have more than one.

Comments about Sony BP-U60 Lithium-Ion Battery:
Batteries are Sony's speciality.
The BP-U60 lasts practically all day - I have to remind myself to recharge it after use because I expect it to continue working well into another shooting day.
It holds its charge remarkably, even after sitting in a bag for literally weeks during slow job cycles.
I've had to frantically swap Anton Bauers and RED batteries after barely an hour of use; not the BP-U60 - I could leave it on all day, including a meal break, and it'll still have at least a 100 minutes of life left in it.
This is true even in cold weather conditions, where most batteries usually go down very quickly.
An overnight charge keeps this bad boy happy and ready for more the next shooting day.

Comments about Sony BP-U60 Lithium-Ion Battery:
I have used these batteries for a long time and much of it in the dead of winter, up in the North, where it can get quite cold. I have used it to film Northern Lights in the middle of the night and it has not let me down. When I've been out for a long time, in -20 weather, I sometimes have to warm it up under my armpit for a few minutes and then slip it back into the camera and carry on collecting footage. I have charged my older one many, many times and although it is getting a little harder to get a full charge, it still works quite well.

Comments about Sony BP-U60 Lithium-Ion Battery:
Certainly very reliable, initial charge took some time but, between these two U60s and the U30 that came with my EX3, I can count on more or less 10 hours in the field. One charger for three batts inconvenient, forcing one to purchase Sony's two batt charger. I also wish Sony would have given item more battery life for the price.

Comments about Sony BP-U60 Lithium-Ion Battery:
I use this all the time. Works super well. I shoot documentaries with the EX1 and these batteries work great. I had to replace the last ones I had because they weren't holding their charge but I shot with them almost everyday (12-14 hour days) for two years

Love this battery for its 4 hour run time, plus you can easily check the remaining battery level with the push of the button. I like it's bigger size compared to the BP-U30 battery, too. Helps balance out my EX1R when shooting hand held.
