Most of my photography work is done out in the field... in all kinds of weather. I carry a minimum of eight SD cards for various reasons. Recently... after a full day of shooting... I put the SD cards back in their respective little individual plastic cases. Some how... between the shoot and back at home... one of the cases was crushed and the SD card cracked. Not good. All the photos of three hours of shooting on the SD card gone. Look... see the tears? I was devastated.
That did it! I need to get a case to protect these precious SD cards. I saw some nice plastic ones but having owned other Pelican boxes in the past... when I saw this Pelican SD case there was no hesitation. I've carried it around with me now for almost a month. Here's the deal. Besides being sealed from the elements... like dust and moisture... it's SOLIDLY built. Like a tank! Now... soon as I shoot an SD card and remove it from the camera... it immediately goes into the Pelican case. Right now I'm storing four 2GB SD cards on one side and four 4GB Class 6 SD cards on the other side. Don't know what the material that's inside the case is but it securely holds the cards. Have not had any cards dislodged.
Note: should you decide to buy one... or several... I suggest that you don't get in the habit of grabbing the cards where the electrical contacts are. Nope... that's not a good thing to do.
Learn from my devastating situation. Get this incredible little Pelican case to protect your SD cards. I'll be getting a couple more soon. It's mighty cheap insurance for those 'once-in-a-lifetime' photographs. This case is typical Pelican quality through and through. I have no doubt that you'll be just as impressed... and delighted. Cheers!

Definately a little room for improvement.

I used this for just under a year and the latch mounting tab broke. It still closes, but I wounder how it seals now. I thought it would last londer then that. I am still overall satisfied with the case, Just didn't think I would have to replace It so soon.
Just a note, I ordered another one to replace it.

Pelican is known for making amazing gear and this is no exception. They fit SD cards perfectly with just the right amount of snug to prevent the cards from falling out web you open the case ( delkin don't ).
They also come with a "generic" sleeve for other cards which also fits a P2 Panasonic card perfectly. It's not listed but it does really well.
All in all a great card case holder and extremely durable.

I bought this 2 1/2 years ago and have used it frequently for wedding videography. I'm only just now noticing that the rubber is slightly wearing down and the cards aren't being held quite as snugly.
But that doesn't keep me from not giving it 5 stars.

The sleaves for my previous Photo CD filing system are no longer available. I was able to adapt these sleaves to fit the two ring binders of the old system. When all binders on hand are full I will devise a drawer type system using these sleaves. I especially like the availabilty of labling the sleave

We previously bought another brand of card holder for 8 SD cards and it was far too snug... despite being super careful, we lost three 16gb cards due to them breaking after being taken out of the case several times. THIS card case by Pelican is perfect. it holds the cards in place but is not so snug that we're worried we'll break our cards. My husband told me to buy it for our business (wedding films) after they started using them at the TV station he works for.

The build quality is extremely good, as good as the best Pelican gear cases (I own several to store my cameras). Having all my cards in one place is a plus as well. I give this product 5 stars because simply I have found no other product to match this quality. This case is built tough. Great size to fit in your pocket. It even has a hole to loop a lanyard to it. It also comes with a extra rubber insert that is filly open so you can put other small items in the case if you want to store something besides the SD cards. I installed SD card and banged this thing heavily on the floor and the cars stayed in place. It is a must have for anyone that wants to keep their cards safe.

I have 3 of these, each filled with 16 gig sd cards. I wouldnt put my cards in anything else, this thing is indestructible. I took all my cards out and put it 5 feet underwater for an hour, and it was completely dry inside. A must buy for anyone with sd cards
