I am professional photographer traveling the world, from the inner city to the bush in Africa. I have used these batteries time and time again.
I have USB AA batteries that I plug into either my laptop or a Solar power charger and can charge these batteries anyplace. I will also know they stay charged.
I have never had a bad experience with them, still using the same 16 batteries I got a year ago. I run my D300 off them all the time.

I bought four packs of AA NiMH batteries (4 each per pack). I was looking forward to use these batteries based on the other customer reviews. I photograph weddings and I had a small cocktail party wedding that I was assigned to. So, great I'll use these new batteries and (since I can be skeptical) I'll bring along my old Sanyo 2700 batteries (that are on borrowed time), as backup. I opened the pack of Eneloops and, because of everyone's reviews, did not charge them because, supposedly, they are pre-charged. Well, you guessed it, the pack I opened didn't last 20mins in my Canon Speedlight 580EX flash. Needless to say, I was mortified, annoyed and thank goodness had my old backup.
I will not buy these again, nor recommend them to others.

Comments about Sanyo Eneloop AA Rechargeable NiMH Batteries (4 Pack):
The storage life become shorter after more than 20 times of recharge.
And I don't recommend to recharge before exhaustion even though the brand tells ok. The batteries capacity goes shorter.
However, after exploring several different brand batteries, I found that this is the best NIMH rechargeable batteries in this planet!

Nothing more really needs to be said that has not already been said by others.
These are *THE* rechargeable AA batteries to get. I have a 12 of these and use them in 3 devices - Nikon SB-800 flash, and two LED flashlights.
Biggest benefit is that they retain their charge when unused for a long time. This is great for the flashlights because flashlights don't get used often, but I need them to be bright when I do use it. As for the flash, these eneloops allows fast recycles even after repeated flashes for a half day of shooting!

Comments about Sanyo Eneloop AA Rechargeable NiMH Batteries (4 Pack):
I decided to try to avoid using so much external battery system so I bought a total of 4 set of AA rechargeable batteries.
The eneloops came charged for the go ahead an so far the recycling time in my 580EX-II Canon flashes and durability of the charge is impressive.
And yes they can be stored without using for 6 months or more and still retain the charge.
Buy it!

Bought 40 of these guys!
Other batteries were just a pain, as I wasn't sure how much juice was left in them, which ones had more juice than others... it got to the point where I was buying a lot of batteries. Now I just pop them on the charger and go and am confident that I have enough battery power for all day events!
