I've used Duracell 2400mAh, Power2000, Sanyo 2500 maAh, and LaCrosse 2600.
By far the only set that I've been able to rely upon were the Eneloops. They offer a slow discharge rate, so you can count on them actually being ready to roll when you need them. Also, according to my top-of-the-line battery recharger/refresher, the mAh rating holds true.
Using them for Canon 580 EX flash primarily.

Comments about Sanyo Eneloop AA Rechargeable NiMH Batteries with Charger (4 Pack):
When everyone you know recommends these, you give them a try. When they come through with flying colors, time and time again, you find yourself recommending them to everyone else.
Simply the best AA rechargeables available. I have three of them and 6 sets of 4 AA's. Get 'em while they're still made in Japan, where quality actually seems to mean something.

Use these for my Nikon SB-600 Speedlight flash. I've taken over 1000 pictures with the flash without needing to recharge. I've had them since Dec. 2011 and charged them only once or twice since then. The longevity has really surprised me.

Comments about Sanyo Eneloop AA Rechargeable NiMH Batteries with Charger (4 Pack):
That's what you need if you need to use high-demanding electronics equipment like small portable strobes. recycling time is beyond acceptable and the are reliable. The charger could have been quicker but it's ok. I like the way the power plug becomes flat in the charger.

So far so good... After being recommended sub-par rechargeables for my speedlights for years, these batteries are performing with the speed and power usually relegated to expensive one-time use alkalines.
Looking forward to how they'll perform over time!

Bought these for use in the new Nikon SB700 flash. These are so superior to regular alkalines or NiCd I don't know how I got along without them.
Comments about Sanyo Eneloop AA Rechargeable NiMH Batteries with Charger (4 Pack):
Actually, the packaging has false words on it. These batteries did not work immediately. We opened the package yesterday and needed to leave the batteries in t he charger. It was three hours later and we needed to use other batteries for a family wedding since these batteries were not usable.
I would not recommend someone to buy something that does not live up to its "advertisement" on the packaging.

Comments about Sanyo Eneloop AA Rechargeable NiMH Batteries with Charger (4 Pack):
It's a slow NiCd or NiMh charger which is fine for getting longer life from the batteries. The batteries get warm, but not hot. Fast chargers will heat the batteries considerably which shortens the battery life. If the battery gets too hot, there is a pressure vent, which if popped, prevents a battery 'exploding', but will allow the electrolyte or gas to vent out or leak, thus ending the life of the battery quickly.
I've charged the eneloop batteries, Canon NB-400, and the Ansmann 2850 mA/Hr batteries with charger and had no problems. The charge time can reach up to eleven hours with the higher mA/Hr cells. If you're looking for a fast charge, this isn't the charger for you. Slow charging is preferable to fast charging in maximizing battery life. The downside is that you should always have an extra set of charged batteries on standby.

Comments about Sanyo Eneloop AA Rechargeable NiMH Batteries with Charger (4 Pack):
I have used these for the past year and a half. They stay fully charged for whatever time I've left them stored, often times in the charger. The recharge time leaves a bit to be desired, but for this quality product, that is easily overlooked. I typically get about 400 shots in my external flash. That is exceptional. There is no lag between shots for the first 250 shots. After that, the lag is noticeable but not a bother.[...]Love 'em! Couldn't ask for more.If you plan to use these in Microphones like we do at church, you can get a full concert use out of the package..... 90% charge right off the bat!
