This is the cheapest, most professional shoulder system I could fine. I actually rented it for a couple weeks from[*]and I decided it would work for me. I use this for shooting with my Canon 7D. I primarily shoot music videos, commercials, and short films. I have a follow focus and monitor mounted to my rig. You will more than likely need to purchase a riser for this system if you intend to use a follow focus with it. Otherwise, the camera sits too low to the rods to make it work properly. You may also need a riser if you use larger diameter lenses.

We are using this Shoulder pad system to shoot a video web series. It works and cost effective compared to others. Adjustable and light weight. We are using it with the Canon T2i. It would have been great if it came with a riser for the camera, due the compact nature of the devise for DSLR. I improvised with the Canon extended battery pack. This product does exactly what I wanted it to do. It keeps my shots stable and balanced, and is quite comfortable as well. You can't beat the price either.
The only downside is that it comes loose fairly easily. For the most part this isn't a problem, just be sure to tighten it before every shoot.

Comments about Cavision RS1580D-SPE Shoulder Pad System Package w/Dual Handgrips:
This is a decent shoulder mount system and the price is right. I bought a Manfrotto plate where the camera goes, so I can quickly snap my camera on or transfer it to my tripod. I covered the plastic handles with black gaffers tape...works great. It's as sturdy as you need it. I taped a 2 lb weight to the back shoulder part to balance out the weight from the camera. Like all equipment, if you don't throw it around, it should last a long time and I see no other reason to spend all that cash on the other more expensive mounts. I use this for interviews where I am moving around.

Simple and cheap shoulder rig for my 7D dslr. Good to use during ENG recordings. The only thing that is not so great is the quality. It feels very plastic.

Looking I around I found this to be the best buy as far as price and functionality.
I would like to see more accessories, like longer rods so that a follow focus and a soft box can be attached. Would be nice to have cushion on shoulder also.

Comments about Cavision RS1580D-SPE Shoulder Pad System Package w/Dual Handgrips:
The shoulder brace works nicely, but the plastic handles and shoulder pad is NOT comfortable, at all. If Cavision replaces the plastic components with rubber ones, I would've rate it 5 stars.

Comments about Cavision RS1580D-SPE Shoulder Pad System Package w/Dual Handgrips:
use the sys. for video shots. it does the job but for the money, it could have been a lot better. it says shoulder pad but, if you like hard plastic for the pad, then you will love this thing. Qhen it said ,PAD, I assumed it was like a soft pad or something. NOT SO. Its hard, it slips around on the shoulder. I made a soft pad for the thing and it works a lot better..

Comments about Cavision RS1580D-SPE Shoulder Pad System Package w/Dual Handgrips:
okey, I just bought this new equipment cause I didn´t have enought money to buy a redrock micro. Anyway the way workflow increase is just awsome. The only three difficulties I found was that the shoulder part of the pad wasn´t the most comfortable, but again if you wish comfort just buy a pillow. Second was that there is a little metal pice in the front of the pad that in case your DSLR or camcorder is in front of this pad the lens may be too big and might scrape a little. And third the problem isn´t the handels themselfs, it´s their position they are close together, but this third drawback isn´t bad enought to discredit this pad.
I still recomend it cause it improve a hole lot the workflow and the technique also improves. Even thought it is not the most visually beautiful pad, but it does the work.
Of Course this is the experience of a rookie.

I haven't used this product on a shoot yet (that will be this weekend) but so far in testing it seem pretty good. For [$] you can't go wrong. I'm using it with a Soy NX5. The unit folds up nice and small and fits in with the rest of my gear. As mentioned before, the should rest is not padded, so I may have to make up something to fix that.My only complaint is the handle is too thick and my Varizoom focus / zoom controller won't fit.

I use this product to mount my lumix gh2.
It is light-weight and fully customizable. It really helped me get more stability and still free one hand for the follow focus.
The materials might be cheap (plastic and non aluminum) but the fact that all the joints are dented adds extra stability to the grip.
I had to rise the camera a little to be able to use the follow focus. But not a big deal.
It is a way cheaper alternative to Zacuto or Cinevate and serves the same purpose without expending all that money. After all, it is JUST a rig!

I bought this for my Canon HV40 hoping to find a way to steady my shots in a shoulder-cam related fashion and so far this rig is exactly what the doctor ordered. Everything is adjustable for the user's comfort and has a nifty center plate you can easily move up and down with limited effort. This shoulder rig is a MUST HAVE for anyone looking for complete stabilization of their footage.

Using this on a JVC GY-HM100U. The camera is fairly small and a little difficult to hold steady on close-up shots in interviews and thats where this shoulder pad system really comes in handy. Make sure to get the one with two handles, it makes a big difference.
Everything is adjustable and although there isn't padding on the shoulder part, you don't really notice it with my camera. Overall a really good idea.

Comments about Cavision RS1580D-SPE Shoulder Pad System Package w/Dual Handgrips:
I kept this because frankly its the least expensive, yet relatively pro looking shoulder rig out there. However, while I kept it because I needed a shoulder rig, the quality of the should 'pad' and the handle grips is laughable. Literally, [$] of hard plastic that if dropped should shatter. But if you want to impress clients who don't know the difference. It works. And it is a relatively useful piece.

The cost is *cheap* compared to other shoulder rigs. The build quality is pretty sucky to be quite honest. But, if taken care of and baby'd it should last a while.
Impresses clients. Works as it should, just a little low on the build quality side.
Would buy again though, especially compared to other WAY OVERPRICED shoulder rigs.

Comments about Cavision RS1580D-SPE Shoulder Pad System Package w/Dual Handgrips:
I got this to mount my T2i on, to get steadier shots, and it works great. The shoulder dad is easily adjustable to get just the right feel, and everything locks into position solidly, no worries about loose parts. I got the Cavision LCD viewfinder as well and it is a perfect fit. The hand grips appear a little close together at first, but you quickly understand why when you start using the set, you get better control with your hands closer in, and its easier to use a FF that way as your balance doesn't shift the way it does with the rigs with the grips spread out wide.

this product is amazing. only [$] you cant beat it. metal rods with carbonate plastic makes it durable. as long as you treat your equipment right it treats you right. all the people with negative feedback are ridiculous. the only con i see in this product is that it is top heavy so the shoulder mount tries to crawl up. you can off set that by adjusting the mounting plate further back. def a good buy and a good upgrade! id buy this up real quick
