Comments about Boston Acoustics Duo Horizon AM/FM Stereo Radio (Midnight):
Nice sound out of this two speaker system. The Blue Light dims. Has an alarm clock. Do not notice the heat problem that others have noticed. It maybe slightly warm but that is to be expected from such a compact unit with great sound. Has a base and treble which is nice for customized sound. Fm reception is clear. Has a seek button for stations. The only thing I wish it had was a battery backup for when the power goes out. Bought two of these for my teenage daughters and they love them and use them all the time. Wife is very impressed. For the money I know of nothing better. Cost a little more than some cheap sets but well worth the extra [$].

Comments about Boston Acoustics Duo Horizon AM/FM Stereo Radio (Midnight):
At this price for this Quality ,,this radio is a absolute steal,in my opinion.
The sound quality, design, function array is with out peer at this price. I had put off buying the BostonAcousticsReceptor Two years ago even though,I was wild for it after hearing it and was determined that I'd have it when I could afford it ,so when I finally decided to buy it I found it had been replaced with The Duo Horizon,I never had an in person demonstration of this model , but I knew that it could only have improved in two years, and yes I was right to wait for this one ,But don't you wait like I did ,I can't see them making a better radio at this price for many years to come.

Comments about Boston Acoustics Duo Horizon AM/FM Stereo Radio (Midnight):
Great sound, intuitive user interface with simple controls. Downsides, can't program stations with alarm which you can do with other clock radios. The snooze control is amazing. I would like to be able to view the time when the radio is on, not just the radio station. It arrived with dead batteries for the remote, not thrilled about having to replace them right out of the box.

Comments about Boston Acoustics Duo Horizon AM/FM Stereo Radio (Midnight):
I bought this unit for my wife for use in her bedroom reading retreat. She likes the sound quality, ease of use, and the remote contol. This unit produces excellent sound and has very good FM reception. It is a bit bulky, but this is the only con that this unit has that I can see. An excellent performer for the money.

Comments about Boston Acoustics Duo Horizon AM/FM Stereo Radio (Midnight):
This unit replaced individual components(CD player, tape deck, receiver, speakers)in a den/office area. The space saved versus sound quality lost is worth the compromise in this situation.Unit delivers suprisingly good sound for its size.Deep bass and good seperation at mid. and high range. Hooked up an I-pod and the music choices are endless.Remote control, which also controls I-pod thru additionally purchased HDR cable, is an added bonus.Five star rating is reduced by the need to purchase HDR cable for I-pod hook-up.

Comments about Boston Acoustics Duo Horizon AM/FM Stereo Radio (Midnight):
I use the Duo Horizon radio as a bedside radio and alarm clock. It reminds me of the great "old fashioned" radios of years ago--simple controls, clean lines, and especially great sound. The instructions suggest positioning the radio so that the back is near a wall, to improve the depth of the bass response, and it really does make a difference.
This is the model without the iPod/iPhone dock, which is available separately. However, there are AUX inputs, and I use those instead (for example playing language CDs from a portable CD player for improved sound quality). The iPod/iPhone dock would add some functionality (via the remote control), but note that it is somewhat limited for iPhone users.
The only con, if it is one, is that many of the menu items, which are accessed through the left large knob, are somewhat small on the screen, and thus hard to access if you are in bed and have eyesight of someone "of a certain age"--i.e., if you should be wearing your glasses. However, most of those settings can be left alone, usually, and one of them--the sleep timer--is easy to use once you get used to setting it.
By the way, the two alarm settings (music, tone, or both) are held in memory and can be left on if you like. You just turn the radio off to silence the alarm each morning, and it is ready to go for the next day. That status is easy to see on the screen (It is not buried in a menu).
The only other minor quibble is that the screen toggles between radio station and time via a button on the remote, or by going through the menu, rather than showing both at the same time.
Finally, the brightness setting is pretty neat: You set the overall range, and it then adjusts within that range based on ambient light. It is very sensitive and you can see it stepping up or down as the ambient light changes.
Overall, a great purchase, with or without the accessory dock.
