Comments about Celestron 25-125x80 SkyMaster Zoom Binocular:

This binocular is a very powerful instrument for the price.I use it without the zoom, for when zooming, an accurate adjustment is very difficult and seems almost impossible without ghosting and double vision. I would recommend it to a friend.

Comments about Celestron 25-125x80 SkyMaster Zoom Binocular:

I know a lot of reviews of this binocular have been pretty critical. I would like to give an honest review from the viewpoint of experienced amateur astronomer.
Large binococulars of this size are generaly used for astronomical purposes. These binoculars by their very nature are going to be heavy. No one one in their right mind would even consider holing them up in their hands for viewing. A tripod is a must, and not just any tripod either! You need a sturdy tripod and preferably you should have a counterbalenced extension on the tripod if you want to observe anything near the zenith. If they are hard to focus, don't fault the binocular. any binocular with 25X and up will have a delicate focus. This is because of the power, not the focus. A flimsy tripod is not going to give you good views of the heavens either. This is because of the "shake" from the flimsy tripod. The celstron 25-125X80 is a quality instrument and I rate it 5 stars.

Comments about Celestron 25-125x80 SkyMaster Zoom Binocular:

Looking through while using the zoom made the field of view very small. Yes it zoomed some, but I found that the Skymaster without the zoom 25x100 was better. If you don't need distance, then it's ok if the range fits your needs.

Comments about Celestron 25-125x80 SkyMaster Zoom Binocular:

I am in the process of returning these after less than 1 day of ownership. I think many reviewers of binoculars need to state whether they were able to use them without seeing a 'double' image. Only 1 reviewer below stated that as a problem. I feel that some consumers do not know that it is a problem: namely at a minimum one must be able to resolve the field of view (fov) into one circular field with one merged image. If a binocular cannot do that it is out of alignment and needs to be returned for collimation. Large binoculars are prone to being 'knocked' out of alignment.[...] I must warn you that many american companies use Chinese optical makers and simply 'brand' them as their own.So beware.I am a verified PayPal buyer.

Great magnification you get to see things around your town that you never knew where there, very good for skyviewing algo. I have a carbon fiber tripod for solid viewing at high magnifications.

Bought them with the hope of being able to read a number plate a almost a mile like the last guy who left a review.

They're hopeless. On a tripod they are very unstable and imposible to focus. They are not configured properly and impossible to adjust for correct viewing. Only way to see anything is to close one eye.

                A poor product all round.

Well they looked and sounded great online. Bought them and they're completely useless

if i had to say one good thing.. they look impressive.

i can see things miles away, but nothings clear, the two eye pieces aren't calibrated and no setting will line up the picture. basically you're seeing double, no matter what or how you try look through them, its a double picture.

they're far too big for a standard human head. i know our eyes are all different widths apart, but i had 3 people try them with the same results.

really... that not worth using as a ships anchor.

Comments about Celestron 25-125x80 SkyMaster Zoom Binocular:

I took this to a viewpoint overlooking the city, and it was a joy to use it. I could check the prices at a gas-station almost a mile away with ease. I even noticed a radio/TV-tower in the distance that I wasn't aware was there. And because of it's large objective lenses it was possible to use it even long after the sun had gone down. In fact, in the dusk, things appeared brighter through the binocular than without.Shortly after the sun had set, I took a picture of the moon, using a small compact digital camera that I just held up to the ocular, and it came out quite nice.[@]The only thing I wasn't too happy about was the fact that the eye relief shifts forward when you zoom in. So when you're using the zoom you have to fold down the eyecups, and that might be a problem for people using glasses. It does, however, require a sturdy tripod due to it's large magnification and heavy construction. But overall I'm very pleased with it, and at a very nice price too.
