Photoflex Pro-Duty Backdrop Support Overview

The Photoflex ProDuty BackDrop Support Kit includes a BackDrop Pole, two 2320Y LiteStands, and a rugged carry bag to hold the whole kit.

The BackDrop Pole is a single-unit with telescoping sections that constructs easily with a twist and pull motion to extend each section and another twist to lock in place. The BackDrop Pole is a sectional pole that connects in multiple configurations to offer different length options. The Pole stores collapsed at 4' 7" and extends to 12.5'.

Each 2320Y LiteStand extends to 12' high. The extra height afforded with these stands means you can shoot your model from a low angle without seeing the top of the backdrop in your shot. These are exceptionally sturdy stands with a maximum load rating of 40 pounds. The "flip-top" design of the brass post adds versatility for multiple uses in your studio. The kit weighs 17 lbs.

Photoflex Pro-Duty Backdrop Support Reviews

Good, Sturdy.

What I don't like about it is that it is difficult to set up by yourself. The backdrop pole screws into the two stands and is not easy to do by yourself - I host a lot of photography events at different venues and its not easy for me to set up quickly as compared to other ones that are placed on top. Once its up it is great. What I do like about it is its good quality, its sturdy. I like how light it is and that it comes with a bag. I'll keep my purchase and hopefully find a way to make it easier for me to set up. Could be user error, but I've tried a couple times now and can't find an easier way to do it.

Overall very good but some issues!

Overall, the stand is well made and has held up very well for a variety of off-site shoots where a portable backdrop was needed. My main issue is the cross pole is 4'7 when folded and does not fit any of the standard cases for poles (off by 3-5 inches in general). I wound up getting a bag for skis to hold this set up but not ideal. Also, when using fabric backdrops that have a finished seam at the top to thread through the poll, you have to fully remove the end screw to get it on and then replace it again. Not major just a bit of a hassle and time consuming. I have not had the same issue with paper backdrops with a standard tube size.

I've put canvas and muslin on it, at a height of about ten feet and it is strong enough for that without bending.

Is this better or worse than the Manfrotto Free Standing version? The price is about the same.
Asked by: Johnny
This unit can go to 12 feet high and 12 feet wide. The Manfrotto you mentioned https://bhpho.to/2V3hcr7 is 7.7' high and 9 feet wide. The build quality of both systems is good.

question

Is this crossbar more stronger then the Manfrotto 272B? Can I buy the Photoflex crossbar individually without the stands?
Asked by: Greg
The overview says 40 lbs is for the stands. It does not give it for the cross bar. Comparison based on specs is only meaningful if you know both specs use the same criteria. B&H should answer this question.

question

These are adjustable height, correct? So I can use them at 4 or 5 feet if I wanted?
Asked by: Anonymous
Yes These are adjustable. Although I'm sure there is a minimum height because the poles are about 3 feet at their smallest breakdown. But These will easily go from 4 feet to 10 feet tall.
