The The Visible Dust Arctic Butterfly 724 (Brite) has a bright LED that illuminates the sensor during the cleaning process. This illumination reduces the possibility of fibers being dragged accidentally against the surrounding cavity hence reducing the potential cause of smear usually caused by contaminated fibers.
With the LED as a guide, it becomes easier to spot dust particles. The internal engine meets certain RPM standards and also creates a centrifugal force that enhances dust rejection as well as bolstering the charge enhancement of fibers.
These combined patented features that include SCF (Super Charged Fibers) makes the Arctic Butterfly 724 (Brite) a superb sensor cleaning tool. These enhancements involve nano-coating technology for charge enhancements as well as by using super thin fibers for maximum lift capability along the rotary motion for cleaning/charging - all without the use of canned air.
Because of its safety features, all models of Arctic Butterfly can be safely used on ITO (Indium Tin Oxide) coated sensor and DLSR's with built in sensor cleaning systems

The original Visible Dust brush I had seemed cheaply made. It's pink housing didn't want to stay together, and the case was a brittle plastic that cracked immediately at the hinges. The brush rested in a feather weight plastic liner that tried to escape the case every time I lifted the brush out of it. The brush itself would come into two parts if I looked at it hard. The inner motor and switch connectors were barely held in place by tentative friction fits. When it fell about 14 inches off a crowded shelf to the table top, it just shattered. Sigh.
The technology/concept behind this brush, even in the old flaky design, is excellent, and this new instrument is a huge qualitative leap toward matching it in effectiveness and handling. The only issue I have with the new Arctic Butterfly is the three position switch, which is imprecise and requires more force to deploy than such a small device should require. Perhaps it will loosen with use, but I'm not sure that's a good thing. Since I only need to use it every couple of months, it should stay stiff for a while (rim shot).
The brush is now made of much more substantial material that is easy to hold securely, and is shaped to conform to your fingers for optimum control. It is packed in a high impact plastic case with a custom fitted foam liner, all of which fit into an almost redundant and excessively macho black leather case with zippered closure. It's "look" and proportions provoke the imagination. I could also store the entire assemblage it in it's swanky cardboard outer case, if I wanted to totally over compensate for the delicacy of the original brush (RIP). But I don't.
This brush is made to travel but is also appropriate for studio or home use. It's strong, compact and does it's job well. The light is a great asset. Plus, it's about $50 less than the first one I bought several years ago. If you need to clean your sensor, especially while on the road, this is a great way to do it. Just be sure the brush is firmly anchored in it's motorized handle before you turn it on. Consider safety goggle if you don't. I takes some careful attention.

Although I've purchased tons of equipment from B&H [...], this is my first product review. I felt compelled to write about this product from Visible Dust to warn people that it is very poorly designed. The brush head on this device fell off as soon as I turned it on for the first time. I'm almost glad it did because after further inspection it appears that the brush is held to the motor's axle by friction and nothing else (there is a small electric motor that spins the brush to charge it). This is especially worrisome to me because if you are spinning the brush to charge it and it becomes loose without you knowing it, it could easily fall off while you are using it on your sensor. I researched this product prior to buying it and even watched the youtube video, but my brush head will not stay on no matter how much I try. Every time it is turned on, the head falls off. After a search on Google for "arctic butterfly brush falls off" I realized that there are more people who have experienced this and I will be purchasing a real brush to avoid this issue. For the price, this is a very poorly designed product and I would strongly recommend to stay away and purchase a traditional sensor cleaning brush.

Having seen the dust and debris on my image sensor with a Sensor Loop, I knew I had to do something. Read the reviews, talked to photographers who used this, and paying $50 to get my sensor "professionally" cleaned, I decided to give it a try.The unit comes without 2x AAA batteries but with nice cases. The battery compartment is tight and the switch stiff so take off the clear plastic brush cover before installing the batteries. The brush is pressure fit onto the motor shaft. It should rotate but not vibrate excessively. Mine did. I gently removed the brush and reinserted it and it spun much better. The brush did a great job of removing the grit from the sensor and interior of the camera body. It fits well in hand, and the light illuminates well. I figure I've got a half dozen cleaning to pay for the brush and it's handy to have (more stuff to carry in the camera bag). It also does a great job of getting hard to reach dust from deep lenses. It's very important to keep your fingers off the brush. People wow at the rotating brush but want to touch it. Don't let them! The oils and gunk on their fingers will contaminate the brush. The only con I have is that for [$] you'd think the manufacturer could throw in 2 AAA batteries.

I ordered the Artic Butterfly 724 (Brite) to take along with me on a field trip. It came in very handy, with the LED light, I was able to locate a pesky dust particle with ease and clean sensor in short order. Only complaint I have, and it is very minor, is that the brush feels poorly designed in that it could possibly fly off while rotating at high speed. It has not done so on me, but after reading another review, I was made aware of the possibility and therefore was anticipating the worse. Otherwise I strongly recommend this.

It`s an horrible product, it´s not recommended by professional Stuff who cleans CCds, The technician who cleans mine says me, "you never have to use this element for clean, it`s really dangerous, if you touch oiled sides your CCd cames Oiled and becomes terrible hard to Clean it" He passed 4 hours removing the oil, an the Visible dust becomes useless.
If you want to cook sausages in a pan, it´s perfect.

I have heard people rave about these but so far my experience has been just average. It comes in a nice case and seems sturdy. A lot of the dust on my sensor still remained even after several tries. I went to a wet method to go after the rest.
Most disappointing is that the brush seems to pop off frequently when spinning the element to "charge" it. The last thing I want is for the brush to fall onto a tabletop (or worse a floor) just before I stick it in my camera. I would have thought better care would have been taken to ensure the brush stays affixed.

Wow!!
No more dust bunnies in my photos. It was with some trepidation that I cleaned my sensor for the first time. The Arctic Butterfly had been highly recommended by reputable magazines I read and they were spot on.(or off as the case may be!)

This tool is awesome. Not only is it one of the best products available for removing the "common" dust from your camera sensor; but, it also works great to remove dust in general. For example, an optical mouse can be turned back into a new mouse once you remove the fuzz (from a mousepad) and dust from its optical eye. The tool is so easy to use...just make sure the brush shaft is firmly seated on the motor's spinning shaft or you'll discover the "flying brush" as I did right out of the box. No big deal, just startling. Otherwise, as I've said, this is a superb tool.

Product worth what ever you paid for it. It really works. It adsorbs dust particles. When you apply 2-3 times you'll see there is no particles left on sensor. Brush made of special fibre so soft and abduct dust particles. It cleans itself with electric motor driven rotary movement.
Main point is, you to not have to touch brush with your fingers and only use on sensor.
Led light not so functional.

I Have a Nikon D200 and on a trip to Italy, I got some hairs in my camera that I could not remove. I tried a variety of things but nothing worked. The Arctic Butterfly is something that I have seen in magazines and decided to give it a try. At first, I was not impressed with the actual construction of the product, but after using it, I was sold! This product removed everything from my sensor and it was quick and easy. If you are like me and have heard the horror stories about dealing with your sensor for fear of eternal damage, fear no more because with the Arctic Butterfly you can rest assured that all your problems with be solved. I love it and am extremely happy that I purchased

Portable, easy to use, no fear of damaging sensor. The light is a HUGE advantage - hardly need a loupe. Great to carry with you on travel. Reusable.
Only downside is if brush gets oil on it (Ex. from side of chamber or fingerprint), it will add a smear to the sensor which will require wet cleaning. Only happened once - I now know what not to do.
