Sony's HDR-SR12 HD Camcorder & Vegas Pro 8 Video Editing Software Bundle provides you with an outstanding HD camcorder and Sony's OEM version of their exceptional editing software for those who want to shoot and arrange their videos like a pro. The HDR-SR12 camcorder marries user friendly recording and easy playback with a full HD, hybrid system that records to the hard disk drive or to Memory Stick PRO Duo and Memory Stick Duo media. Record for up to an unbelievable 14.5 hours in HD and use the Memory Stick media for transferring video and stills to your PC for editing, emailing or printing when you're finished shooting.

The top-of-its class, the SR12 features a generous 3.2" touch panel XtraFine LCD. The 5.6Mp ClearVid sensor with the BIONZ image processor and Exmor technology provides stunning video and 10.2Mp stills for beautiful shots every time. Face Detection technology ensures that every smiling face will come in crystal clear for memories that record true-to-life with no surprises upon your return home. An HDMI connection via the Bravia Sync provides single-cable transfer of audio and video for playback on Bravia or other compatible HDTVs.

• OEM Version of Vegas Pro 8 Video Editing Software: The Vegas Pro 8 Video Editing Software for Windows from Sony is a powerful nonlinear editing featuring precise editing tools that deliver an efficient and professional video workflow. Vegas also delivers tools for audio production for video, giving you a complete solution for any Windows-based NLE editing workflow. Editing tools give you full drag-and-drop functionality when working with your timeline. You can edit SD and HD projects using mouse or keyboard trimming tools as well as ripple editing modes. Vegas supports enhanced video monitoring, customizable window layouts, color-coded snapping and support for HDV, SDI, and XDCAM formats. It allows for unlimited tracks of audio, 24-bit/192KHz support, on the fly punch-in recording, 5.1 surround mixing, effects automation and time compress/expand. More than 30 customizable audio effects are included to expand processing and mixing options.

• Hybrid Recording to the 120GB Hard Disk Drive or Memory Stick Media: Record to the 120GB internal hard disk drive or to Sony's own Memory Stick Duo or Memory Stick PRO Duo (sold separately) recording media. Images from the HDD can be transferred in-camera to Memory Stick media for uploading to your PC or compatible Memory Stick device for editing, emailing, or printing.

• Full 1920 x 1080 Recording: Record in the true clarity and detail of full 1920 x 1080 HD.

• 5.6Mp ClearVid CMOS Sensor with Exmor Technology and BIONZ Image Processor: Capture stunningly clear video and stills with the 5.6Mp ClearVid CMOS Sensor. The BIONZ image processor provides faster response times from the camera and noise reduction for perfect pixels. Exmor technology provides high resolution images with outstanding detail and rich tones, further improving this already spectacular image sensor.

• Face Detection for Video & Still Images: The BIONZ processor enables the Face Detection technology on the HDR-UX10 camcorder. This system recognizes up to 8 faces anywhere in a frame automatically adjusting focus, exposure and color for the most natural skin tones in each image while leaving background images unchanged.

• BIONZ Image Processor: Sony's BIONZ Image Processor uses hardware based Large Scale Integrated (LSI) circuitry to provide the camera with a faster response time and prolong battery life. The BIONZ also removes noise from the image prior to RAW data conversion for the cleanest video possible and handles the Dynamic Range Optimization processing.

• Exmor Technology: The Exmor technology featured in the 2.3Mp ClearVid CMOS sensor provides high resolution and sensitivity that results in rich, detailed stills and video.

• 3.2" Wide Touch Panel XtraFine LCD Display: This remarkable 3.2" wide touch panel XtraFine LCD displays clear and accurate photo-like video and images for hassle free recording and playback. The screen even displays images outside with clarity. The 1Mp resolution provides you with an excellent LCD screen right on your camcorder.

• Built-In Zoom Mic with 5.1 Channel Recording: When your camera's zoom goes in for the close-up so does the built-in zoom mic. The mic focuses on the sound coming from your subject, letting all other noises fall into the background for clear and accurate dialogue and sound.

• Dynamic Range Optimizer 2: Never worry again about capturing images on bright days or in low-light conditions. The BIONZ processor powers this high-speed processing engine that automatically adjusts the scene for you. Bright highlights are brought down, preventing whiteout and preserving detail even on the sunniest of days. In lowlight or backlit settings the Dynamic Range Optimizer brings out detail in shadows resulting in a natural and clear scene.

• Switchable HD/SD Format: Capture and playback in either high definition (HD)4 or standard definition video.

• Carl Zeiss Vario-Sonnar T Lens: Carl Zeiss Vario-Tessar lenses have been designed especially for consumer camcorders. These lenses offer the sharpness and quality of professional lenses. The T coating reduces and prevents flare and glare in your images.

• HDMI Connection with Bravia Sync (CEC) Technology: This HDMI connection allows HD video and 5.1 channel audio signals to transfer from the camcorder to a compatible HDTV via one cable using Bravia Sync (CEC) technology. Control the HDTV and the camcorder with the Bravia TV remote as well thanks to the HDMI.

• InfoLITHIUM Battery with AccuPower Meter System: The InfoLITHIUM Battery with the AccuPower Meter System is one smart rechargeable battery. View remaining battery or charging time (in minutes) on the LCD or viewfinder so you always know where you're at with battery life. InfoLITHIUM batteries are also not subject to memory effect which shortens battery life when you charge too often. Charge whenever you want without worry.

• Film Roll Index 2: Sony makes finding scenes quick and user-friendly with the Film Roll Index 2. Much like the chapters in a book the index helps you find the video scenes you want by previewing the beginning. You also have the option to display scenes at intervals of 3, 6 and 12 seconds or 1 and 5 minutes.

• Face Index 2: The ingenious Face Index 2 technology lets you find the video scene you want by face. Choose from the faces displayed in the index and the scenes in which that person appears will be selected.

• Photo TV HD Viewing with HDMI Output: The HDMI output to the Bravia HDTV and other compatible HDTVs lets you view photos with HD accuracy in either standard screen (4:3) or widescreen (16:9). On select Bravia HDTV models your photos will automatically be shown with improved gradation, sharpness and color.

• Super SteadyShot Optical Image Stabilization: Sony's Super SteadyShot Optical Image Stabilizer (OIS) provides an even greater level of protection from the age old problem of handshake. Record remarkably clean, steady video every time.
