Comments about Lowepro Lens Trekker 600 II AW Lens Case:
Use with 600/4 AF-S II with D300 attached and lens hoods reversed. Fits very snug with no slop. Extra pouches on the side allow for additional equipment and the large built in pouch holds a good amount of gear. Only complaint I have is I use a Bogen tripod with a Wimberly head and being mounted on the side it tends to pull the bag to the side a little. It also doesn't hold the tripod dead still and allows for a bit of movement when hiking which can tend to throw off your balance when negotiating difficult terrain.

Comments about Lowepro Lens Trekker 600 II AW Lens Case:
Sturdy, protects the lens and camera well. I like the straps, too. I use this with a Nikon D3S and Nikkor 400/2.8 lens. Had to remove the upper support, but the lens fits in tight and I feel at ease that my equipment is protected.

Comments about Lowepro Lens Trekker 600 II AW Lens Case:
I bought this to carry my 800mm into the field, and the lens fits fine mounted on my 1D4 with the hood reversed. Overall, I'm pleased with it. Bag is light, harness pretty comfortable - yet the bag rides fairly high for taller people (I'm 6'1" and I have harness lowered as far as possible). One quibble with the side straps. They easily fall off once unbuckled (as I found on my first outing when I lost a strap after removing my tripod). All-in-all, though, probably the best choice for carrying this lens on a hike.

Comments about Lowepro Lens Trekker 600 II AW Lens Case:
When it comes to bags, I am picky.
The best part is how I can make it as light as I want with a single body and lens OR module it so as to bring two bodies and 8 lenses.
I use it on a bike - and though no one likes to crash, I have been known to take bad spills. I feel a lot better knowing how much padding is on this bag.
Cons: I'd make the main zipper a little stronger, even though that may had to the overall weight.
Excellent bag - like having 5 different bags, really!
Best Use: I have my D3s with 120-400 Sigma (with hood attached). A bit of room to spare at the bottom. My D1x will fit on the top, though most often, I will leave it behind.

I've been looking for a bag that would fit my Nikon 600mm lens plus body attached as I find it inconvenient to set up after I arrive at my destination. Now all I need to do is take my gear out and start shooting. This bag is extremely well made; not too heavy and comfortable as a backpack. I highly recommend it.

I use this to carry my extra long tele lens and Canon 1D Mark III all assembled and ready to go. Plenty of space and a good size pocket for small accessories. Has tabs for adding outside water bottle holder and tripod on one side.

Love this....I pack my 600mm lens w/camera body attached into this secure pack which can go onto a plane as carry-on luggage.
It comes with a decent sized front pouch and small inner pockets for storage as well as a backpack harness.

As a wildlife photographer I need a way to protect my investment and the Lens Trekker 600 II AW Lens Case does that job. Not only keeping my camera and lens dry, free from dust and protected but also making it easy to carry the weight of a big lens and tripod in and out of the woods comfortably.

I use this to carry my canon ef300mm f2.8 with hood attached with my canon 40d body also attached. With the easy pull down front flap it is easy to access the full package ready to shoot. I also manage to pack my Canon ef800mm f5.6 in with hood attached but the camera body needs to be carried separately.

Comments about Lowepro Lens Trekker 600 II AW Lens Case:
I bought this as a storage / travel / hiking pack for my 500mm f/4 with a body attached. The camera and lens (with the hood reversed) fit nicely in the pack with some room left over on top for a few accessories on the supplied adjustable shelf. The hip belt and shoulder straps are very comfortable and adjustable and really help distribute the weight well. The built-in rain cover is nice as well. My only complaint is in the design of the exterior. Lowepro elected to put one large exterior pocket on the front of the pack, leaving the sides for attaching a tripod or monopod. This leaves the pack very unbalanced, especially when carrying a large tripod with ball / gimbal head (I'm using a Gitzo 3 series CF tripod with RRS ballhead and Wimberley Sidekick) It seems to me a better design would be to put pockets on either side of the pack and leave the front clear to strap on a tripod in the middle, so the load is centered. I knew it wouldn't be airline-friendly before I bought it which didn't bother me because I use other methods to carry-on on a plane (Lowepro Photo Trekker AW with body removed from lens)
Overall an excellent pack, but I wouldn't recommend strapping a tripod on the side if you plan to walk far with it.

Comments about Lowepro Lens Trekker 600 II AW Lens Case:
I use this case with a Nikon 500 mm plus 1.4 converter, and a D300 camera house. The lens with camera fits nicely into the bag, and it can be transported safely with no concerns in the car or as a backpack. It is easy to get the camera in and out. The case can stand uprigth on the floor and there is a good handle in the top for carrying.

Comments about Lowepro Lens Trekker 600 II AW Lens Case:
I bought this case to transport my Canon 600mm lens, 2x teleconverter and Canon Mark IV safely in my bicycle cart. The camera, teleconvertor and lens all fit nicely without disassembly except for the lens hood. The case is extremely well constructed and should last a very long time. I extremely pleased with the product.

Comments about Lowepro Lens Trekker 600 II AW Lens Case:
I hve the Canon 600L lens and hadn't used it much. The optics and image quality was among the best of the many "L" lenses I own, but lugging this thing around in the factory case was difficult. The Lowepro bag is perfect for the lens. I has space for the lens plus a pro body, filters and field supplies. Most important, it provides reasonable protection for the lens when being very comfortable to wear as a backpack.
This is among my most useful purchases.

Comments about Lowepro Lens Trekker 600 II AW Lens Case:
I owned a older model of this Lowepro lens case case which was too small to include the camera. Now I can even have the l.7 extender attached. Rides comfortably and the storage compartment is much better than the old bag.

Comments about Lowepro Lens Trekker 600 II AW Lens Case:
The Lens Trekker does the job of protecting my 600mm Nikon lens when I am traveling in the car. It is much more convient than the case that comes with a new 600mm lens. I am not sure that it can be taken on airlines.

Comments about Lowepro Lens Trekker 600 II AW Lens Case:
If we lived in a perfect world, the Lens Trekker 600 II AW would be the perfect bag. Unfortunately, we don't live in a perfect world. The bag fails to or barely meets airline requirements for carry-on luggage on many major carriers and you may not be allowed to carry your equipment onboard. Check with your airline before you leave for the airport especially if you are changing planes or airlines.
So the Trekker 600 II AW isn't a great carry-on bag. A Nikon 600 mm f4 lens with a 1.4x teleconverter and Nikon D3 body attached fits in it like a glove (when both lens hoods are reversed). There is no slop and you have space in the main compartment to stuff in a couple articles of clotting to pack around the lens for extra padding.
The case works great on short walks over rugged terrain when you don't have to get the camera out and set up in a hurry. It isn't as comfortable as a pack specifically deigned for hiking but then again, stuffing a long lens in a pack meant just for hiking isn't safe.
My biggest complaint is mounting my tripod onto the case. I use a Wimberley head and it sticks up and snags low branches. It would be nice if the head fit inside the bag.
In conclusion, Lowepro designed a rugged case, albeit a bit heavy. If you are looking for something to protect your investment, this is a well made product.
