This is a great idea if you need to have your camera ready to go for video. Video eats up tons of you battery. Even with extra batteries, I had to get these. Some studio and site shots kill my battery. That's why i chose to buy a couple of these for my cameras. The only down side to this is you should not leave your camera going for long periods of time without letting it cool down. The camera sensor gets warm and can alter footage. Nothing major but something to think about with purchasing this. In other words just know your equipment and this will be a great add on for the camera. The other thing is that you'll have a cord dangeling out of the camera, but it's out of the way of the tripod.

I purchased the AC adpater to explore, make camera settings and download media without discharging the battery. That it does but connecting it to the camera is awkward. The small rubber door to fit the cord through to close the battery door is very stiff, once you locate it. If you are using a battery holder then you have to remove it to load the adapter in the battery well. More engineering needed on this one. But once installed, works as advertised.

There isn't much to say about this AC adapter except that I don't know how I ever got along without it. I used to have to stop the camera and change batteries. Now, no interruptions and fumbling with expensive extra batteries.
It fit perfectly and worked like a charm. The only drawback, of course, is the external cord.

ACK-E6 is great. works fine as it should.
it's 100~240V compatible. That means you can travel round the world and still use the thing (as long as you have the right socket).
A bit expensive since it's made by Canon, and not by OEM.

Originally, bought a cheap import look-alike ACK-E6. After a few uses, the flimsy cord broke inside the insulation close to the camera end, causing power interrupts if cable was lightly touched or moved. Trashed it and bought the Canon ACK-E6 -- cable is much thicker and the plug ends are reinforced. Works well and definitely worth the cost. For studio shooting and reviewing images on an HDTV direct from the camera, using AC power is terrific, no battery wear. Highly recommended.

When i got my 7D i planned on doing a lot of studio Video work where i was already planning on being fixed on a tripod the whole time. This AC adapter makes it great so i never have to worry about burning through my batteries!

It's an AC power adapter for the Canon cameras. Plug it in and you are good to go for the long haul. I use this in a studio environment where the camera is mounted on a tripod and does not move very far and is on for many hours.

I bought this power supply to do timelapse photography over long periods of time, where the camera's battery would normally give out. The adaptor fits easily into the battery cavety and there is plenty of cable length to get you to the nearest powerpoint. The power cables themselves appear to be made from good quality materials. The only thing to note is that for non-US customers, the power cable will come with a US plug. Luckily I had a few adaptors lying around, so that wasn't a big problem. The DC transformer is compatible with international voltages.

works fine, why so expensive? I needed constant power for long stretches as I'm using the camera to make stop motion animation. I didn't buy the ten dollar one from Hong Kong , but mostly because I needed it in a hurry. The missing star is for price.

I like the fact that when I can use AC adapter I'm not running my batteries down, plus I can run longer than the battery. It works like it should and I can find nothing bad about it. To me the AC adapter is a must have item. I have seen in other reviews that it does not fit well in the camera. Not so for this one as it fits like a glove.

My business partner and I had a shoot where our camera couldn't move- it was key to the final product that nothing was disturbed- including the battery changing. The AC adapter saved us time and ultimately, helped us achieve a better product. Also, our level of professionalism was bumped up a few notches by not having to swap out charging batteries. Less useful if you are moving around a lot, but if the camera is stationary it works beautifully.

My favorite part of using this is that I don't have to remove my battery grip! Great thinking Canon! My shoots often involve me having to wait on my subject to arrive, then step in front of the camera and expect me to be ready at a moment's notice. That can be nerve racking when you're forced to work on battery power. Really like being able to leave the 5D MkII on continuously without worrying about juice. Great product.

I couldn't find it in Malaysia. Even the Canon branch in Malaysia told me there is not any Adapter for Canon 60D!
I was lucky and I found it on this website.
It is so good when you want to record a film in the studio because you are not worry about your battery charge level.
