This filter is helpful in procecting my 85 1.8 lens which I use for sports. I was recently bumped by a referee and was glad that I had installed the filter on the lens.

I have this filter mounted on my Canon 85mm f/1.8 prime lens. Being a 'clear' filter, obviously it serves to provide protection to the lens' front element. Over time, a film of dirt, grease, etc., will develop on on glass, and I feel more comfortable cleaning a filter than the lens element.
This filter screws on smoothly and snugly. I have used it at indoor and outdoor sports events, and although I didn't do any direct image quality comparisons with and without this filter, I'm happy with the pictures I get and don't see any issues attributable to the filter.

I purchased two of these clear lenses for my Canon EOS Rebel T2i, one for the 18–55mm lens that came with the camera kit and one for a 55–250mm zoom lens. I wanted a B+W lens (made by Schneider Optics) because of their high quality lenses and because their mounts are made of brass. This filter is thin enough to ensure no vignetting, but it's still capable of holding a standard lens cap. Although UV filters are often used as lens protectors, I didn't want any filter affect whatsoever, which is why I bought this clear lens. I took some comparison pictures (with both of my lenses) and found that this filter has no affect on the images.

I will make for less bulk when I add my polarize .

I got two of these filters for use on my 24mm & 28-105mm lenses . I like the slim fit and the quality of the filter . I do think they are a little expensive , but worth it !
