Comments about B+W 77mm XS-Pro Pro Clear 007M Digital Multi-Resistant Coated (MRC) Glass Filter:
I was a bit sceptical on how good a UV filter can be, and whether I should spend this much money to buy one. Then I decided to try it anyway, and I was amazed by the results. I mostly take photos of landscaping and city scape, and I was amazed at how much clearer my pictures are after using this filter. I am very happy with this purchase.

Comments about B+W 77mm XS-Pro Pro Clear 007M Digital Multi-Resistant Coated (MRC) Glass Filter:
B+W makes outstanding filters. Gone are the greenish color casts from my cheaper filter days. I bought two of these, 1 each for the 24-70 f/2.8 Nikkor and the 70-200 f/2.8 VR II Nikkor. I coulddn't be happier.

You get what you pay for. If you are a person who doesn't know enough about what you are doing and depend on others, get this filter. If you are the type that has to spend as little as possible and doesn't care about quality and craftsmanship, then go by another brand just because it's cheap. It will match your results.
This is a quality made filter. Period.

Comments about B+W 77mm XS-Pro Pro Clear 007M Digital Multi-Resistant Coated (MRC) Glass Filter:
I spent 4 days down the search engine "rabbit hole" looking for this filter.
Yes, it's expensive. No, it doesn't do any cool effects.
It's essentially a condom for your super expensive lens. But it feels as good as bare! It is one of the very few B+W filters with outer threads. So once you screw it on, it stays on unless you scratch it. And if that happens, you can rest assured that the 100+ bucks just paid for itself! It has the renown Schott brand glass. It's made in Germany next to Neumann microphones and Sonor drums. You won't even know it's there except for the sense of relief you feel anytime something touches your lens. Don't take the new lens outta the box until this baby is right there ready to go on!

I got this apposed to the UV to go on my 17-55 is. I got the same one but with UV protection for my 70-200. The filter seems to have zero effect on picture/color, which is what I wanted.

Comments about B+W 77mm XS-Pro Pro Clear 007M Digital Multi-Resistant Coated (MRC) Glass Filter:
I have not had it long enough to say how resistant it is to scratching and other damage but it feels sturdy and well constructed. The inside of the outer ring is threaded so the lens caps grip well and does not constantly slide off the way it does with some other filters I have.

I use this as "protection" for my 70-200mm 2.8 VRII. I am pleased with it so far. I have not seen any significant impact on sharpness.

Comments about B+W 77mm XS-Pro Pro Clear 007M Digital Multi-Resistant Coated (MRC) Glass Filter:
I use this filter for lens protection on a Canon EF 24-105 L IS USM lens. This filter replaced a [$] Hoya UV filter and I can see a definate improvement in the quality of my photos. The cost of the filter was worth it to me to get the full benefit of my high quality lens. Since I do a lot of outdoor photos with exposure to dust, pollen etc. I opted for lens protection rather than not using a filter.

I was looking for top of the line quality without top of the line price... this fits the bill. So you got the schott glass and you got the brass. what more can you ask for?
The antireflective coating is superb.
easier to clean than Hoya's S-HMC. Fits nicely on my 24L2

Comments about B+W 77mm XS-Pro Pro Clear 007M Digital Multi-Resistant Coated (MRC) Glass Filter:
The 77mm XS-PRO Clear was purchased to protect my Canon 24-70mm L "walkabout" lens, which is often used for street portraiture, children portraiture, and just about any other photo situation. With the common use of the lens, the XS-PRO Clear was a perfect choice for protecting a highly used and sometimes abused lens.
This filter has already saved my lens from several potentially glass-marring situations, helping me keeping my focus on the image at hand and not the concerns of lens damage during the photo shoot.
The brass construction does not "lock" against aluminum casings of most lens filter threads, helping with filter changing (when necessary) in any temperature or humidity condition.

Used on a Nikon 24-70mm lens. If you are going to spend this much money on a lens don't put an inferior filter on it. Spend a few more bucks and get the best
