The first time I used it the clamp damaged my pole. I was heartbroken and [*]. So you have a sit down interview and don't want to hold your boom. Well, BOOM, this is what you need. Forget more expensive units, this thingy holds my pole just as well as the $ thingy would hold my pole. So, uh, don't look elsewhere.

Comments about Pearstone Boom Pole Holder:
Works very well for up to medium length boom pole because of its very compact design. Long poles would need a somewhat wider base!
Perfect for medium to close up frames. Recommended.

Comments about Pearstone Boom Pole Holder:
Perfect for cantilevering a boompole overhead in an interview setup. Much better than having to use a c-stand arm -- actully it's freed up a c-stand when used in combination with a grip head. Rubber surface prevents damage or any torquing of the boompole.

Nothing like some strategically bent steel and gravity to solve daunting problem.

Press junkets, where you will do 15-20 interviews in a day....instead of using lavs....boom it!! This allows you to hang your boom on a c stand, inches above your interview subjects and not have to hold the boom.

That thing is a life saver. It really balances a boom pole nicely, the rubber helps hold it tight in place so it doesn't rotate, a must have if you're alone and needs to use a boom pole that won't enter your framing!
Keep in mind that you really need a grip head with this thing to work.

Works great. Rubber grip protects your boom, while giving you enough drag to rotate your pole and aim your mic. No more clamping my boom to a grip arm.

This product will be used to hold a boom mic on the tripod. I love the stability this product offers. Seems to be made of solid steel and have a great rubber coating to protect the mic pole.

Comments about Pearstone Boom Pole Holder:
Its solid, it holds the boom well, probably will last a lifetime, and nicely coated to protect the boom. A bonus use I've found for this is that by rotating the grip head on the C-stand from the horizontal over head booming position to a vertical position, it can function as a secure place to put the boom between set ups or during meal breaks. Also, its pretty compact and fits easily into my audio case.

Exactly what I wanted -- lets a C-stand take the place of a person holding the pole for long takes when the talent is stationary. Now that person can be doing something else.

This useful piece of grip gear allows you to mount your boom mic pole on top of a standard "C" stand with a grip head. The fact that it has a vinyl coating protects the boom pole from scratches and adds an slight extra layer of sound deadening. This piece is ruggedly constructed and should last a lifetime.

I've already used this multiple times in the last week of having it, and it has proven tough, versatile, and easy to use. Other boom holders cost twice as much, and are much bigger. This piece of EQ is small, portable, and well-made.

Comments about Pearstone Boom Pole Holder:
The headline says it all. No, I still hire a boom op when in the field or have to have mobile sound on set but, for those sit down interviews I'm able to breeze through and not have to worry about the mic dipping into the shot.
It's easy to use. Just clamp it in a grip head on a c-stand, extend the arm (or don't), apply boompole and you're done (don't forget to drop some dirt.)
My only complaint is length. There is maybe 6 or 7 inches from the fork to the hook. I would like it to be a little longer to cover more real estate so the boom feels more secure. Other than that it's golden.
