The w2338h 23" 16:9 Full HD Widescreen LCD Computer Display from Hewlett-Packard is a flat-panel monitor featuring an impressive industrial design, built with home and office use in mind. The display delivers a wide 160°/160° viewing angle, a 1920 x 1080 native resolution, a high 1000:1 contrast ratio, and a fast 5ms response time.

I use this for PC monitor, but take it out in the field to review still photography and film / video via HDMI. Too many uses to list. This widescreen is huge and quality is nice. 1080 at 60hz for less than [$]? [...]?If your looking for additional desktop monitor, highly recommend this, THX B & H..I shop no where else.

use with video editing. very sturdy stand, tilts easily and stays in place. contrast and color are consistent from corner to corner. planning on buying another for dual screen editing.

I am very happy with the quality however side by side with another moniter HPW2207 it does not deliver the same quality picture. The other monitor has sharper blacks. It (2207) is a couple years older and cost more back then? I am still pleased with the performance for the price however.

This is the 2nd one of these I own, The first came with a computer. I had another flat screen of a different rand that was about the same size but the quality was much less. It's a nice monitor and a good value. The only thing I wish was better was the menu interface for adjustments, they can take a while to dial in.

I mainly use it with a PS3 with the HDMI input. I have had it for about a week and so far the picture is great nice color and very crisp images. I have used it a couple of times to watch movies from my computer by using the VGA cable, with my computer set to the HP recommended output and have no complaints, once again very good quality picture. This is the first HD monitor i have owned so i do not have anything to compare it to. The only draw back so far is the built in speakers are not nearly loud enough. I live in a tent with 8 other people (in the Army in Afghanistan) and it was so hard to hear i had to buy external speakers.

I am an amateur photographer moving, slowly, into doing some better work. Needed a really good contrasting monitor and I got it. Not interested in the speaker....don't use them. The picture I get with monitor is great.

PROS: Exactly what I wanted for my MAC- Graphic Arts, Video Production, Garage Band, Web Design and Game playing. Plenty of screen resolution options. You can tilt back about 15º (degrees) and about 15º forward (any further and it will lose it's balance)
CONS: I did not find anything wrong with it.
UNREVIEWED: I have external powered speakers, so I did not test the built in monitor speakers.
SIDE NOTE: I never thought I'd like a wide screen format for my computer. I am pleasantly surprised.

I saw the 21.5 inch version on display at a local store and compared it to the other brands they had. I was instantly captured by the gloss screen, sharp and vivid display and simple good looking design. The price was right. An internet search showed I could get the 23 inch for the same price, so I got that. I can display 2 full pages side by side. After 1 month of hassle free, beautiful viewing, I have to say it is the best monitor that I have had. Very Satisfied... Gary G. Schempp
Important notes:
1. There is no height adjustability but I knew that before going in and it's specific height works for me. I measured first.
2. I was a little concerned about the Glossy Screen and what others had to say in some reviews.
However, it looked great in the store with bright lights and I figured it would be fine at home too.
It is, I don't have a glare problem at all.
Love this one... and so do my quests that see my screensaver photos appear vividly...

Has a great looking picture. Can mount it without it's base. The only fault it has is it doesn't have the extra connections,such as, USB and composite connections.

I bought this monitor to create a dual monitor setup. It makes a big difference to have all that extra real estate to spread out the timeline and the video output screens. I only set it up tonight, so I haven't explored every facet of it, but I will work with it over the next few days on a project. I will need to color calibrate both monitors if I am to use it for Photoshop or color grading, and will likely get an HDMI connection to the video preview monitor to improve resolution. But right out of the box it works, so I can't complain there.

the monitor is a lot bigger than i thought it was when i saw it in stores.
i use it with my hp laptop and it's great for plug and play. I really like that it has the HDMI connection.
The only issue that I've had is with my HDMI cable.
I can't seem to take care of is having audio from my laptop come out of the monitor with just the HDMI cable (which should be able to transfer audio/video with one cable).
The other issue with the cable is that when i turn the monitor, i don't know why, but the monitor will go blank or the picture will freeze, almost as if the cable fell out. But when I check the back, the cable is fine. It's fine once I restart the program on teh computer.

The size and clarity of the monitor is fantastic. I had been using a 19". I'll never look back from widescreen.
The only downside is that the height doesn't seem to adjust. But I just put a book under it - no biggie.
