I use these ear buds to listen to music while reading, mowing my lawn, working in my garage, etc. I use them with iPods as well as our home stereo. I am amazed at their great sound quality. I had some V-XXXX VXXXX that I liked but they were damaged in "a lawn mower accident"(bummer!) so I had to replace them. I chose these Klipsch S4 buds after reading many reviews. And I am glad I picked them as they've exceeded my expectations by a lot. The old V-XXXX's had an overpowering bass sound that I had to "fix" by reducing low frequency sounds on my iPod or on my pre-amp. The S4's were better sounding and had a more natural low end without making any tone adjustments on the player. And I've heard details in my music using the S4's that I'd never heard before.
I listen to all kinds of music except for rap or hip-hop (as I feel these are just no-talent noise, not music).
I highly recommend the Klipsch S4's to anyone who likes very good quality sounding music. I even hear more detail with these than I do with my Bose noise-canceling headphones or my Senheiser's. And the S4's are very good at blocking out most external sound. They are great for use while mowing the lawn or working with power tools.
Make sure you put the S4 bud's "R" in your right ear and "L" in your left! That makes a big difference in sound quality. The steel silver colored padded case that they come in is fine for storing them, but a soft pouch or a case that would be comfortable in your pocket would have been nicer, or a case that could hold your iPod as well would be more useful.

PROs:
When properly fitted, these earbuds sound great. The sound is extremely well balanced, and I really enjoy hearing the low frequencies that are completely cut out in other earbuds. I listen to a lot of bass-heavy electronic music, and the bass is definitely present in these earbuds, but it really can't compare to over-ear headphones or an actual stereo. I appreciate that I can hear a balanced sound even at low volumes.
CONs:
1) Microphonics. The most problem with these earbuds is the cord. I don't care that it's thin and feels flimsy, but I do care about the friction noise, sounding like you're using a stethoscope, that is transferred through the cord. I now know this friction noise is called microphonics, and it is so extreme when I walk or move (the primary purpose for earbuds) that it's difficult to concentrate on the music. By wearing the earbuds upside-down with the cord wrapped around my ears, the noise is significantly reduced. Due to each earbud being angled, I have to wear the Right in my left ear and vice versa when wearing them upside-down.
2) Uncomfortable. When wearing these as they are designed, they are fairly comfortable. They are less comfortable upside down with the cord wrapped around the ears. To hear the full bass response and to keep them from falling out when upside-down, they need to be lodged snugly in your ear, so much so that extended listening is uncomfortbale. The mid-size tips are the only ones that fit me (The large ones are too large, and the thin double-flange tips are too narrow). Klipsch sells mid-size double-flange tips, and I may try these at some point. The earbuds are dislodged more easily when chewing gum, and they aren't comfortable for sleeping.
3) Traveling case. While a relatively minor complaint, I don't know why a cord-wrapping case is not standard. I find I spend a lot of time wrapping the cord around my fingers such that it will fit in this case with the lid closed.
Overall, these earbuds sound great for the price, and that's why I've kept them. However, be prepared for compromises.

Comments about Klipsch Image S4 Noise-Isolating Stereo Headphones:
A few people here are complaining that these don't block out ambient noice very well, they fall out of their ears or there isn't good bass response... which tells me they probably don't have the right size rubber pads for their ears. Klipsch provides 3 different sizes. I need the large myeslf. They block out external noise very well for me, but if I use the medium size pads then I'd have the same problem others complain about. I can't even think about using the small pads. The fit (with the proper ear pads) is much better than the standard Apple ear buds that come with the iPods. The sound from these is very good for the price (again, better than Apple ear buds) but you have to get them to fit your ears properly. My only complaint is that the pads can come off when you don't want them to. I have to push them in my ears a ways in order to get the best fit and block out external noise. Once after pushing it in too far, the rubber pad came off when I tried to remove the 'phones from my ears. I was able to get it out easily with tweezers since the rubber didn't go that far inside my ear, but I just wish they were more secure. I ended up losing one of the pads eventually and now I've ordered a replacement from Klipsch.
The cord is nice and long which gives some versatility you won't get with some others. I've owned these for a year or more and they still sound great.

I bought these earphones because I have read many reviews online that these are the best sounding earphones for the money... and those review were right... Never before have heard such clarity, treble and bass for earphones, save my Bose noise-canceling Headphones that cost 4 times as much! Hese fit comfortably in my ear, and have different sized ear attachments to fit virtually any ear. I highly recommend these earphones for those people that want a quality earphone and are willing to pay a little more for it... Enjoy

I bought these because I seen internet reviews that these are the best earphones for the money... and they where right. I have a several pairs of earphones, mostly cheap, and the best pair I had before the klipsch were the ones I got with my Zune a few years ago. but once I tried these, I was completely surprised. The never heard this sound and quality of music that came out of these earphones in my other earphones, and are very comparable to the sound I got to my Bose Noise canceling headset!!! I would highly recommend these earphones, regardless of the price...

I purchased these headphones for travel and have been thrilled by the comfort, audio fidelity and balanced sound. They are a Little distorted in the high mid-range at times, but for the size of the speakers and the cost of the headphones, they are really exceptional.

Comments about Klipsch Image S4 Noise-Isolating Stereo Headphones:
These are perfectly good headphones from a sound POV however they are a big disappointment when it comes to Noise Isolation. They really don't isolate the sound more than the standard cheap headphones available for a few bucks.
Another issue is I do not find the ear pieces fit all that firmly so when I use them at the gym they often fall out. My Apple provided phones actually do a little better job in this department.
Are they worth the money? EHHH???

The sound beats even much more expensive models from Shure, Bose, and others. The sound isolation is unveatable. The bass is very good in comparison to the more expensive models mentioned above.

I purchased these prior to deployment to Iraq. So far I'm VERY pleased. Not only were they great on my 12 hr flight to kuwait - With these headphones I slept during my C130-flight. Honestly am shocked at how well they block out ambient noise. Sound quality is great - the bass actually shakes my head a little bit. GREAT product!
Don't sleep with them in, or you'll miss your alarm.

These headphones are incredible! The clarity, the fullness of the bass, the quality...its all there. These are the best ear buds I have ever heard and the most comfortable fit! Know that you do have to try the different ear pieces to get the right fit. I would buy again for sure. Nice job Klipsch!

Mostly used with Archos A43IT . Musicality is excellent but bass can be better. Deep bass but presence is below average. Highs are clear but not too much. Mids are very mild and smooth with excellent staging reproduction.

Bought these before a long trip. Tried them for over 2 hours switching back and forth with the iPod stock buds. The sound was thin. No bass response. The iPod buds produced a much fuller sound. Asked my wife (musician) to try and she experienced the same thing.
Did not filter out ambient car noise well either.

Picked up a pair based on reviews and Klipsch performance excellence in other products I own. I'm taking this pair to Iraq in hopes of drowning out the snoring from the other guys in my barracks. Testing theses, my kids were shouting from across the room - was as if they had a 'mute button' (We should be so lucky, eh?). Excellent sound isolation. The bass is very strong - strongest I've heard from buds. Bass is a little muddy, but can feel it shake a little bit. VERY good product for the money!

I bought these headphones as a way to listen to music as a pass time, its not like I am super into hearing everything perfectly. These headphones way exceeded my expectations and I can hear every song better than I ever before. Also, I was looking fore something just moderate by searching in the [$] range and got something worth well more than its price.
