I use these to add cold shoe mount points to my cameras handles etc. The 3m adhesive is very strong and does the job well. I had this on a camera for 4 years and its still strong.

I does the job but...

I works but I wish it was built stronger (thicker plastic) and the side flaps extended out more for a better grip of the surface. The glue tape on the bottom should be thicker also.

Could this be used as a top-of-a-computer-monitor mount? (Is the bottom flat or curved? Hard to tell from pics.)
Asked by: Evan
The bottom CAN be flat, or you can bend little wings on each side to curve around an object.

question

I need just the flat piece, that would slide into the part you have pictured here. Is the flat piece with adhesive backing included?
Asked by: A generic U.
I believe you asking if it comes with another flat piece with adhesive that integrates with the mount shown, correct? If so, the answer is no. You only get what is shown. It is designed to accept speedlights hot shoes (or pocket wizard type devices).

question

What type of weight can it hold? I have a 5.7 inch monitor I would like to add to my camera?

Might be somewhat heavy!

question

would you be able to use this to mount a mic on a camera?
Asked by: walker b.
I would not recommend this because of the small area of adhesive. I don't think it would last at all. I intended to sew this to my camera strap so I would have a place to put the hot-shoe cover (Nikon BS-1) when I'm not using it. I have not yet sewn it to the camera strap though.
