• Editing Tools: Vegas features powerful editing tools that give you full drag-and-drop functionality when working with your timeline. You can edit SD and HD projects using mouse or keyboard trimming tools as well as ripple editing modes. Vegas supports multicamera editing, enhanced video monitoring, customizable window layouts, color-coded snapping, and support for HDV, SDI, and XDCAM formats.

• Professional Editing Workflow: The software interface features a fully customizable workspace that facilitates a wide range of production requirements. You can dock multiple windows across multiple monitors, save layouts to fit specific tasks and even nest Vegas projects within the timeline. Vegas supports customized keyboard commands and application scripting to perform repetitive tasks. It manages media for an efficient workflow, with support for 24p, HD, and HDV editing. Both 32-bit and 64-bit systems are supported.

• Robust Format Support: Vegas supports a slew of professional camcorder formats, including XDCAM EX and RED. The software can also work for still images that are greater than one gigapixel in resolution. You can pan and scan across these images to create an impressive movie sequence, while still maintaining HD resolution.

• Audio Control Tools: You'll find a wealth of audio control tools in Vegas. It allows for unlimited tracks of audio, 24-bit/192kHz support, 5.1 surround mixing, effects automation and time compress/expand. You'll be able to apply customizable audio effects, including EQ, Reverb, and Delay. Vegas supports third-party DirectX and VST plug-ins, and features a mixing console for precise control.

• Blu-ray and DVD Authoring: Vegas features a powerful Blu-ray and DVD authoring suite, DVD Architect Pro. The software can be used to create discs with multiple video angles, subtitles, multiple languages, and special features. You can preview and test work in real time, adjust brightness and contrast, set auto levels, crop video, and apply anti-flicker filters. It features full support for CSS and Macrovision copy-protection.
