I've wanted to get a P2 card since I purchased my HVX-200 three years ago, but the price was just too much - I instead opted for a 100GB Firestore disk drive recorder in order to get long record times of the DVC-PRO HD format.
Now that the "E" series of P2 cards is available I jumped at the opportunity to get a 16 GB card. Its a god-send. The price is right (I would have purchased the 32GB card if I could) but the 16GB card shooting in 24PN mode gives 42 minutes of record time so that a bonus - thank for for native mode. The card documentation also said the card is good for 5000 re-writes - good enough for me.
Overall I am happy to see the price drop on the raided P2 cards! And the documentation that shippped with the card explained the firmware issues needed to use the card in the HVX-200. Updating was easily accomplished with a standard SD card (SDHC - will not work). The firmware update file is on panasonic's website. Now I can truely go "hand-held" without that "Firestore" unit hanging out messing things up.
One last thing... Shooting from a helicopter with the firestore was a nightmare... sometimes it would go dysfunctional as the helicopter vibration made it crash in the middle of shooting an epic waterfall or something else super critical (anything helicopter is almost a one chance shot)... Now I am ready with my P2 card!

It's versatile, reliable and gives great picture quality!
The P2 cards are easy to use and the 16GB holds quite a bit of footage - I shoot mostly in 720p.
My only issue with it is the workflow with the P2 cards. Ingesting the footage is a bit cumbersome and then renaming all the clips is time consuming, especially if you're doing all the content management on set. The formatting of the final clips is not intuitive to me separating out all the audio from video files.

I work for a nonprofit and we purchased a Panasonic P2 camera to produce commercials and testimonials of people that have used our services.The card is great to have extra recording time. It is solid and relatively cheap.As with any memory card, you don't have a "hard copy" or tape.

Just got them in and utilized the cards shooting on HD-720 24p and everything looked good. We shot about hour and a half of footage and transfer rate was about 8 minutes per 30 minutes of footage.

I have used VHS, VHSC, Hi-8, Digi-8, MiniDV and now finally P2, and I will never go back to tape again. These little cards are the creme-de-la-creme of solid state media. They are not as cheap as the SD cards but they have more rigidity and feel much more trustworthy with priceless footage than a little plastic SD cared. I trust my data more on these cards than I will on any other format including my external harddrives, they are just great pieces of engineering. Also P2 workflow has improved immensely over the years and makes life so much easier than working with any other type of format, just direct log and transfer, or in some cases just transfer, keep on shooting and log later. Being able to watch your clips seamlessly and quickly and then switching back to shooting and knowing you will not overwrite is amazing. Also, and maybe my favorite feature yet is that there are NO TIMECODE BREAKS, we have gotten rid of one of the worst problems to strike the film/video industry!

I find the E-series P2 cards price tag way more reasonable than the first ones issued, which makes it a no-brainer. I have not experienced any problems with the card(s). Having the camera record from one card to the next when its full with no breaks in recording is a great feature.
