Help prevent lost lens caps with the Pearstone CAPKEEPER 2. One end of the holder has an elastic band which fits around the lens barrel, and the other end fastens to the lens cap via the adhesive-backed disc. The cap remains tethered while shooting and is easily retrieved when finished.

I don't know why most lens caps don't come with a little hole to attach a lens keeper cord, but they don't seem to, so this is the way to go. A sticky pad on one end attaches to the lens cover and the other end has an elastic band which fits around the body of the lens. Remove the lens cap and it swings free but securely anchored. To that extent this item works well. I wish the sticky pad were a tiny bit smaller so that it fit on a smooth place on my camera's lens cap -- that is why i didn't give it 5 stars. Also I don't know why there isn't a type made that the lens cap would be attached to the camera strap because occasionally I find that when shooting downwards the lens cap has to be held back so it doesn't swing into the photo. But I prefer to deal with this issue to losing the lens cap cover which I know I certainly would do quickly when traveling and taking my lens cover off an on as opportunities for photos present themselves. For a sustained photo shoot it wouldn't be a bother to just take the lens cap off and put it somewhere. But for shooting a photo here or there, the lens cap anchor is a good thing.

I bought this after seeing another photographer with one on her lens cap. As I am always stuffing my lens cap in my pocket, then searching my pockets to find it later I thought this would be a great idea.
It did exactly what it says it does, but I found myself replacing the lens cap between shots because when I moved around the lens cap would dangle and click against the camera. (FYI, I wasn't using a regular neck strap on my camera but was using a Black Rapid RS-W1 across the body strap). I missed some shots because by the time I removed the lens caps and focused the shot was gone. I think I'll just keep putting my lens cap in my pocket. Good idea for a product though.

This is a really good product, it does what it is supposed to do but sometimes it is a bit annoying when it makes the lens cap dangle.

Comments about Pearstone CAPKEEPER 2 Lens Cap Holder:
These cap holder (as the name implies) are designed to tether your cap to your lens, and the work well for this purpose. Losing a lens cap can be the difference between keeping your glass healthy and damaged. However, I bought this for a different purpose. After losing three or four Hoodman eyepieces on my 5D MKII because of my camera bumping against my side, it occurred to me that the Capkeeper would be an excellent way to keep from losing another. An added plus was not scratching my eyeglass lens while using the viewfinder without the Hoodman attached.

This simple yet ingenious little device is worth its weight in gold for protecting your expensive camera lens. Having lost too many lens caps out in the middle of nowhere I can attest that having a lens cap holder gives me great peace of mind when I travel. The adhesive seems strong enough to hold on to the cap and if you change lens, the pack has more than one for your second lens. Great value for a very useful product.

I went to Disney World and the crowd kept bumping my camera and lens barrel. I finally lost my lens cap.
It is a much needed product.
I would like to see a longer cord on the product.
I also would like to not have the metal clip, it has a tendency to snag clothing.

A friend showed me this exact lens cap holder - just after I lost my lens cap. I found your website and ordered one just like the one my friend has. It arrived on time. As soon as my replacement lens cap arrives, I'll put it on and never have to worry about losing my lens cap again.

Good for the price.
I used it on a Canon 10-22mm, worked really great.
Would not recommend it for a longer lens, like the Canon 24-70mm.
Because after a while it will break, like mine did.
Easy to "install"
