The editBOX 8MS Array Enclosure from PROAVIO is an external storage enclosure for Windows and Mac computers. The array can accommodate eight hot-swappable drives which can be connected to a host card using the ms miniSAS SFF8088 interface. It is an excellent solution for the large storage needs and intense performance requirements associated with video editing applications.
SAS and SATA Drive Compatibility
The array enclosure accepts 3.5" SAS and SATA drives. It is fully compatible with both 1.5Gbs and 3Gbs disks.
Bring Your Own RAID Solution
The array does not include a controller card or a hardware RAID controller. This allows you to choose your own host adapter. Using a miniSAS host card with a hardware RAID adapter will help you get the most out of your system. It is compatible with cards by Areca Technology, Atto Technologies, HighPoint Technologies, LSI Logic, and Apple.
Cross-Platform Compatibility
The array is compatible with Windows and Mac systems. It is compatible with editing hardware and software from most major developers, including AJA, Avid, Blackmagic Design, Bluefish444, Grass Valley/Canopus, and Matrox.
