The Cavision RS5DM2SET-F DSLR Shoulder Mount Package allows the cameraperson to work with a video DSLR utilizing the stability of shoulder-mount equipment. This package includes a shoulder pad, rod support, handgrips, follow focus, and a swing-away viewfinder adapter.
Please note: now includes aluminum rods instead of carbon fiber rods.
Note! Additional Cavision gear rings required depending on size of
lenses being used. Follow focus comes with Fujinon (mod 0.6) gear; for use with other brand gear rings additional film (mod 0.8) gear FGM08-28 may be required.
Height alignment of LCD Viewfinder is intended for the Canon 5D Mark II and may not align properly with other cameras. For use with the Canon 7D, an additional RPC4580 spacer plate is required.

Note:The lens on the viewfinder, like all optical elements, by its nature magnifies light and thus will also magnify the sun's rays; therefore, leaving the viewfinder on the camera in direct sunlight may cause damage to the LCD. The manufacturer will not be held liable for damage caused by improper use of its products.

This is a great product for starters. I recommend it if your getting started with your DSLR video projects. This rig is light weighted and very stable. It is not a professional rig but gets the job done.

I just received this rig and it is more than what I expected. For the price this is as good as it gets. The rig is very light weight, the follow focus is very smooth and easy to mark you focus. The handles are stable. The viewfinder is nice because it has a magnifier glass to better see your cameras LCD. I will be using this rig for shooting for a Canon 7D and I think is perfect for it. I recommend this rig for starters. If you are in a budget this is a good, semi-pro way to go. Have fun!

I used it for the first time yesterday and it felt solid. Everything felt sturdy and it held up with a camera, preamp, mic, 7" lcd screen, and batteries mounted to it. I only wish it had a shoulder pad that came with it. I will probably have my mom make one for it!

the stuff goes very good and looks spectacular mounted with the camera, it´s quite comfortable mounting on canon 7D.It´s very usuful because you can adapt a lot of gadgets on it. The focus goes very good and precise. I´m Njoying with this toy!

I bought this set for my Canon 5D MKII. The product is not as bad as the internet forums led me to believe. The rails are nice, and the hard shoulder pad is really not as uncomfortable as people say. I am thinking most of the reviews are from people who have never held the product.
One thing to note is that the camera can easily twist if you do not lock it in tightly.
my main problem is that I have only had it for a week, but have not been able to use the follow focus because the lens gears that it uses are not included, and I couldn't find them in stock anywhere. Most follow focus units use the mod .8 gears, but this one uses the .6. I called cavision, gave them the circumference of my lenses, and they sent me some lens gears at a price that was about 20% higher than BH. I paid $30 for shipping, and when the gears arrived, they did not fit any of my lenses. I called Cavision, and was told to go and buy longer screws. I set out on a quest, and still have not found any screws that will work. I called them back, and told them that I wanted to send the gears back. They want to charge me a 15% restocking fee, and not refund my shipping even though they sent me the wrong gears. If I give them the dimensions, then I expect them to send me gears that fit and not have to worry about anything else. I already own some redrock gears, which are .8, but cannot find the cavision .8 FF gears in stock.
Anyway, I went ahead and ordered some longer screws online, and once they get in, I am hoping to be able to use the unit. Long story short: product not that bad, but service is extremely poor.

The ring is not essential but very interesting to use and precise.
The Viewfinder is very important and the DSLR can be mount only with it. So the shooting is surprisingly very stable and low weight for report or vacancy.
