The Dot Line DL-DV60 Video & DSLR LED Light can be mounted on most DSLRs and camcorders using the built-in accessory shoe. You can use the included adapter for added height. In some applications you may find it necessary or desirable to use the included side adapter bracket. This bracket fits into the tripod socket of your camera. Also included is an adapter to fit the unit onto Sony camcorders.
The included li-ion battery simply snaps into place on the back of the unit and will provide about 1.5 hours of running time. The battery is a 7.4V 2300 mAh (NP-F550) battery, which is commonly used on Sony cameras. The included charger works with 110-240v AC. Optional plug adapters are required.

I recently used the light for wedding I was hired to film. This light produced some of the best quality video I have seen out of my Panasonic AG-HMC40 camcorder. The wedding was about 5 hours long, but the light held through the entire event. Even when the battery is low the light doesn't lose any brightness. I would of gave it 5 stars but I had to send it back because the charger didn't work.

I either mount it on my Sony EX1, or on a tripod. I like that it is quite bright, and has a good spread. It's awesome that you can use Sony batteries on this baby! Now that I stopped using my VX2100, the batteries at least have a use.
What I don't like, or rather, what I would like is that there are no filter options for this light. I have to cut out filter plastic and tape it to the light. The color of the light does not blend with normal incandescent lights or candles, so when filming indoors, this light will make everything cold and blue. A little frame could be made with various filters that snaps onto the front of the light, and you would sell more of these. Also a version with a dimmer would be nice, or at least a 3 way switch with 3 levels. People you film are annoyed by the brightness, and sometimes you don't need the full-on power of this light.
Still I'm glad I have it! There could be a filter option, and people would buy that. The Sony battery power is a great touch, though it is very hard to put in or take out the batteries. Not cool when trying to capture the moment. The light does not dim before running out of power. It just turns off.

Comments about Dot Line DL-DV60 Video & DSLR LED Light:
The light is bright, lightweight, and has a small rechargeable battery, and is not too expensive. I use this for wedding photography when I'd like to light the couple with a video light at night. I like that I don't need to buy a super expensive videolight with a heavy battery for these shots. I like being able to grab something lightweight that is easy and can get the job done. Yes, some may say it is a little plastic feeling but that is the trade off for having a lightweight inexpensive light. Since I only need it for a few minutes I'm not sure how long the battery lasts.

I use this product in wedding productions, and love the long battery life. I purchased the diffuser kit with it, and the amber gel takes it down to 3100k. It's a bit too bright in a low light reception hall, so I also use a custom difuser made out of a tupperware lid...works perfect. Smoothe, even light. Yes, it's all plastic, but take care of it and you have no problems.

I love natural light photography so this is a good alternative to having to use a flash. The only downside is that it's bright for someone to have to look directly at but it has nice even light. Love that it has a lithium ion battery instead of AA.Also comes with lots of attachment options.

Comments about Dot Line DL-DV60 Video & DSLR LED Light:
I purchased this for my Panasonic AG-DVX200B video recorder. Although it provides lighting, it's not adjustable in two ways: there's no dimmer and it doesn't tilt. Also, one has to be careful when handling it. It's plastic. However, it worked despite its limitations. It did provide adequate lighting for the more up-close shots just fine. I can't complain too much, though. It's very inexpensive. But when my financial situation allows me, I'll probably purchase a light which is more adjustable and more sturdy. Until then, this will due.

I use this for studio and still life DSLR Photo work. It is lightweight and attaches to your camera with a Hotshoe adapter and adjustable bracket. The bracket allows for more mounting options such as to spare tripod. It is very bright.

Love new technology. This sweet little light kit is just enough to pump up existing light a bit, to enhance your shot, video or still. I taped on a bit of diffusion to spread it out a bit more.

So far I LOVE this light. I used it to shoot a wedding and for portraits and detailed shots it added extra light which was needed. Its great how you can use it off or on camera. I love the fact that it is a nice battery rather than AA batteries. So far from what i see this is going to be an awesome addition to my photography gear.

Lots of power...bright & long lasting battery. I only wish there were a dimmer control. Only has on/off switch
Alos down't fit very securely in hot-shoe. I need to add a piece of tape to the bottom for it to fit a little more snug. For the price, there's better products out there.

Use it with my hi def Sony CX-150 when I don't want to schlep around big cameras and lights. Great for interviews, and short distance lighting. Great thing is that the light uses my Sony FX-1 batteries. I have original batteries that have been replaced by the larger longer lasting ones so I have a total of 6 hours worth of lighting time without recharging. Oh, it alsc comes with a separate charging dock for the battery and all the connectors you'll need for your vid cam or DSLR.

Lite, powerful, compact enough to have in bag on person. Used for the detail shots at evening/lowlit weddings. Perfect amount of light to showcase the immediate scene without taking away from the overall ambiance of the room. This is my new sidekick!

Comments about Dot Line DL-DV60 Video & DSLR LED Light:
I've been in the market for an on-camera light and have been reading up on every one of them that I could find. I own the Sony V1-U, a pro-sumer camcorder and I made the mistake of purchasing the Lowel ID Light for this. It was way too big and was built to fit onto a much larger camera, like a news style shoulder type camera.
I had also rented the famous Lite Panels LED light that most rental houses carry. I found this light to be pretty weak as it hardly added any boost to the subject and it was over $300!
After more research I came across Dot Line's version of the LED light. I saw that it came in a package with barn doors, a filter for tungsten lighting, and an adapter shoe. But most importantly were the reviews I read about how powerful the light was.
I've been conducting interviews at conferences and needed something I could use when I was in a spot where the lighting wasn't favorable. I found I was able to get good light on my host and the guest from 5 feet away. It's also very light weight and pretty sturdy as I've dropped it a couple times already. There's a bit of a trick to getting it to stay on and I was doing it wrong the first two tries...
The other thing I want to add is that it runs on the same battery as my Sony Cam, which was a nice surprise. I'm pretty happy with this product so far.

Just got back from Vegas for a show. Used the light at some parties. But found out the hard way that I should have gone with one that had a dimmable setting. Great product just needs a dimmable switch. Everyone I shot put there hand up to block the light. But the light definatly made a difference. And I didnt not like how the LED's themselves are exposed they should have been behind a piece of plastic or something. This light felt very nerf like, that it might break at any second.

I love love love this video light. I use a Canon 5D Mark II and I am a wedding and portrait photographer. This light will be great to use at low light receptions and is really simple to use with my camera as I take stills and video during a wedding. I have also found it helpful in the studio with lighting and it's easy to take on the go for outdoor shoots. I bought the accessories that came with it and I am thrilled about this purchase.

I use this product on my handycam mounted on a tripode. It's easy and there are several ways to be mounted on the tripode, good choice and brings a good color to the video.
It would be much better if it had a fading light and different tones of light.
