The P-7908u FX Edition Notebook Computer from Gateway is a powerful, yet portable, computer system, designed to meet the intense processing and graphics needs of games and demanding productivity applications alike. The computer's large 17" widescreen display features a 16:10 aspect ratio and a native resolution of 1440 x 900, greater than that of 720p HD video.
Graphics are provided by a dedicated nVIDIA GeForce GTX 260M card with a whopping 1GB of GDDR3 video memory. Capable of pushing plenty of frames for high-resolution graphics, the card also allows you to work on large spreadsheets or watch the latest funny Internet video on the computer's high-resolution screen.
The computer features a full-size keyboard with a dedicated numeric keypad, perfect for keying in data. It boasts a brushed metal finish, surrounded by the high-impact composite finish, completing the computer's FX Premium design motif. Illuminated multimedia buttons accent the keyboard, and give you quick access to your media.
The system is powered by a 2.53GHz Intel Core 2 Duo Processor P8700 CPU and boasts 4GB of RAM, a 500GB hard drive, and 802.11n Wi-Fi. Gigabit Ethernet, an integrated 1.3MP webcam, a SuperMulti DVD burner, and ExpressCard/54 expansion round out the system specs. Windows 7 Home Premium (64-bit) is installed as the operating system.

My husband bought an earlier version of this FX laptop. I warned him against buying a Gateway based on a bad Gateway experience 5 years ago. Obviously Gateway has made improvements to their laptops since then!! Now, 2 years later, his laptop is still going strong and has proven to be a great laptop. We recently bought this FX laptop for me to use now! We have been very impressed with both of our FX laptops!

I have used it for a couple weeks now and for gaming this laptop is great. Running MW2 and Battlefield BC2 on max settings with no problems. Only problem is battery does not last near what it was advertised for. Web surfing I get about 2 hours and gaming I am lucky to get an hour.

I use this laptop for mostly steam games. It runs perfectly well, except for the occasional crashes. What really makes this computer great is the HD graphics! Very smooth and crisp looks for 3D game play. Only thing that may upset users is the battery life. It could last up to 2-3 hours for videos. I'd give it a 4.9 rating, but it rounds up to a 5

This laptop has a great looking 17" screen, nice case and molding, very flashy. It runs games (Arkham and Call of Duty 2) with ease. Great on heat dissapation. Battery life is so-so. About 3 hours when gaming. Biggest drawback is no native Bluetooth. At nine pounds, it is a bit heavy, but I expected that and don't really mind. Full size keyboard is great. I can't keep my family away from it!
