Glidecam Camera Weight Plate
The Glidecam Camera Weight Plate is a flat, metal counterweight that can be used with any of Glidecam's HD and Pro series stabilizers. Weighing 12.7 oz, the plate is added to the stabilizer's base platform to adjust the camera's vertical balance for the smoothest possible movement. The 35 mounting holes allow for differing configurations and distribution of weight.

Like most reviewers, I bought this to make a diy spider trax for my video camera. The weight plate worked well for this. There was only one hole to enlarge to accept the skate board trucks. The price for this plate is the best of any similar product I've found and it's heavy enough to provide stability.

An excellent alternative to the vastly expensive "cheese plates" offered by many DSLR accessories companies.
This plate does the job simply and at good price, while providing stability to a DSLR rig. As steel it's unbreakable. It's perfect for adding video & / or audio recorders to hand-held rigs plus strength.

This plate is awesome. At [$] it's a must have for any DIYer. I'm using it for my home-made shoulder mount, however I've seen it used as a spider dolly mount as well. It may have been designed for the Glidecam but it has countless other uses.

While this may be made for Glidecam, it also works great as a baseplate for making your own spider dolly (add skateboard wheels) or D-SLR Rig. Add a tripod head or quick release and you're ready for many camera mounting projects. While many pro cheeseplates are made of 3/8" or 1/4" aluminum, this is black, painted steel. The best part is the low price, compared to a real filmmaker's cheeseplate, which can cost ten times this price.

I purchased this plate to use as a cheeseplate for my DSLR Canon7D. It has worked wonderfully!
Its is strong and well built. It has a variety of sizes of drilled holes for mounting your rod system, your accessories and whatnot.
It is heavy, but not too heavy. We all know that DSLR set ups should be as light as possible..and this plate delivers!
I have also seen other people use this for baseplates for small table dollys and I have not doubt that this is better than any cheap aluminum plate you can buy @ a harware store.
Also this has a nice black finish and looks great alongside my other gear.
Highly recommended.

I used this plate for a DIY project that I was doing. I was really impressed by the sturdiness of the plate and it gave my project the balance I needed for my rig. The only thing that I didn't like was this product not being a stock item of B&H so it took over 3 weeks to receive, but the plate more than made up for that.
