Sony's MHS-PM5 bloggie Camera (Violet) is an affordable and versatile HD pocket camcorder. Designed with social media posting in mind, the bloggie offers up a number of features and functions that lend themselves to the needs of those looking to make quick video clips and get them up on the web with ease. And, with Memory Stick and SD/SDHC memory card compatibility, the PM5 makes doing just that a breeze.
The MHS-PM5 records 1920 x 1080p high definition video and capture 5MP stills with its 5MP CMOS sensor and other useful functions like 4x digital zoom and individual "Movie" and "Still" buttons. Other resolution choices, such as 1280 x 720p, and standard definition 640 x 480, are selectable as well. The camera also features a 270° rotating lens which is great for self-recording and getting a unique perspective. And, when rotated, the lens automatically turns the camera on. The bloggie even provides more advanced features not typically seen on pocket camcorders like Face Detection and SteadyShot image stabilization.
When it's time to upload video or stills to the Internet, or simply time to charge, the PM5 features a built-in USB arm that lets you connect to your compatible PC or Mac. Sony's built-in PMB software comes in handy to help you do everything from uploading to editing.

Comments about Sony MHS-PM5 bloggie Camera (Violet):
this is obviously not of professional caliber, but it works well for home videos and vlogging. the size makes it easy to stick in a purse and pull out whenever something exciting happens :)

Comments about Sony MHS-PM5 bloggie Camera (Violet):
the quality is not so bad, actually.
But the view is limited. so, if you don't have 360 degree camera kit, I won't recommend this product.
Another important thing is, the zoom in/out function is not working on HD resolution. This is very bad thing when you got a HD video camera.

Comments about Sony MHS-PM5 bloggie Camera (Violet):
Just received this from B&H in the mail. I'd already gotten the larger Sony Bloggie from B&H and had posted a review (see that one for the MHS-CM5).
The difference between the two camcorders is that the MHS-PM5 is much more light weight. It fits comfortably in one's hand or pocket. The construction is excellent. The onboard features are easily accessible. The recording is just as terrific as the other model. It is also more understated that the CM5, so that it draws less attention to itself (due to the lack of the swing out monitor) which is an asset for subtle recordings. There is more control in stability as well due to the positioning in the hand. Sony's done an excellent job here too.
