The microFinder Loupe Accessory Kit from Redrock Micro allows a standard third-party loupe to be securely fastened to the rear of a video DSLR with 3" LCD. It requires no modification, glue, or other substances that may potentially damage or discolor your camera. The unit is currently certified to work with the Hoodman Hoodloupe 3.0 (sold separately).
Note! The microFinder loupe accessory requires a DSLR baseplate or other tripod plate with 1/4" screw to securely attach to the camera LCD.

I bought this to hold the Hoodman HoodLoupe to my Canon T2i. It works perfectly. Kind of pricey for what it is although it actually comes with 2. The one marked for the "7D/D90" fit perfectly on the T2i with only slight bending. Didn't even need the rubber rings it came with. The other one is marked for "5D/D300S/D700S" and the main difference seems to be the angle so with a little more bending I suppose you could have a backup. I wish it was hinged so the loupe could swing away. If you want to take the loupe off you need to remove the quick release plate.

Well, it does not deserve any star at all! Unfortunately that is not an option in the chart. The accesory described in the picture is NOT what you get in the box! You get a different configuration at the end plate w/o a 1/4" hole and pin fastener slot as shown. Instead they give you a two-pronged plate that requires a platform sold by Redrock for about USD 200! That's the only way to attach this piece to the camera. The rubber rings enclosed with the accesory don't align/fit well with the loupe. Stay away, unless you are willing to shell out USD 300 and a headache installing those rubber bands.

Comments about Redrock Micro microFinder Loupe Accessory Kit:
Does exactly what it's meant to do. Original straps are pretty much useless with my Canon T1i and T3i DSLRs, but this bracket keeps the loupe in place without any problem. I like it so much that I keep the lopue permanently on my camera.

Comments about Redrock Micro microFinder Loupe Accessory Kit:
Does a far better job than the hood man straps which I purchased originally. Very solid when jammed between the base plate of my Redrock Micro Runningman and the camera. It would be good if I could permanently attach it to the base plate but this is more a failing of the shoulder mount than this item.

Comments about Redrock Micro microFinder Loupe Accessory Kit:
I bought this product to use with my Sony Nex-3 camera (along with the H-LPP3 Hood Loupe) since the Nex does not come with a viewfinder. I mounted it to my camera in order to use it as a viewfinder to better frame my shots. The mounting hardware needed only a small adjustment (drill a new alignment hole) since the Nex is a smaller camera. I cannot tell you how much better this set-up is for framing shots in the bright sunlight. I am very happy with this purchase and would highly recommend it to anyone who is thinking about adding the Loupe to their camera gear.

Comments about Redrock Micro microFinder Loupe Accessory Kit:
I use it with my hoodman hoodloupe, as an alternative to the super expensive Z-Finder. I have to say that they work nice together, although the rubber rings with it are not that cool. It doesn't look so pro.

i use the microfinder loupe on a 5d mark2 and a 7d. I do not use the redMicro stabilizers but secure the microfinder plate between the camera and my tripod head quick release plate; no glue, magnets and no slippage.

Comments about Redrock Micro microFinder Loupe Accessory Kit:
It relies on the strength between the bottom of the camera and the tripod to clamp it in place, which isn't the most reliable and it sometimes moves out of position. With my Cavision baseplate it's quite awkward to get it mounted, although with Redrock's own DSLR baseplate I think it would be a lot easier. But it's pretty inexpensive, so I would say it's worth the price, definitely better than just the bands that come with the Hoodman finder.

Comments about Redrock Micro microFinder Loupe Accessory Kit:
This is the cheapest, most flimsy piece of kit. It bends so easy, and the one I received isn't the one pictured. The mounting holes are way off so I have no way of securing it to the mounting hole on the bottom of my Canon 5d mkII. And the way it secures to the Loupe is with a rubber O-ring! What a joke. I wasted my money on this...

I use this with a hoodloupe and Canon 7D as a viewfinder in video mode. I looks and works much better than Hoodman's black rubber bands. I'm happy not to have to use glue and magnets (as other finders do) on my camera body. The o-rings that hold it to the loupe could be better implemented: a large one for the inside and a smaller, thicker one for the outside. I'm not using the outer o-ring at all because it doesn't fit well. (A trip to the hardware store may solve that issue.) It required a little bending to get a tight fit against the camera.
