Panasonic's HDC-HS700K High Definition Camcorder has a number of high quality features and functions packed into a camcorder designed for the consumer market. The HS700 captures 1080/60p HD video footage and is capable of taking still photos up to 14.2MP in size. Video or still images are stored to the camera's immense 240GB hard disk drive (HDD) and additional footage can be captured to SD/SDHC/SDXC memory cards.
At the heart of the HDC-HS700K you'll find Panasonic's 3 MOS image sensor. This CMOS sensor provides a total of 9.15MP (3 x 3.05MP) for capturing stunning footage. The sensor works together with the camera's Leica Dicomar lens, 18x Intelligent Zoom, and 3" LCD to get the most of each and every shot. Other respectable features of the camera include Power O.I.S. (Optical Image Stabilization) and microphone and headphone connections. In addition, a cold shoe provides on-camera mounting of lights or microphones and a remote enables hands-free operation.
- High-Density 1080/60p Recording
- The HDC-HS700 uses the progressive method to record twice as much image data as the interlace method. Interlacing requires two images to produce a complete picture, while the progressive method records a single image as a complete picture. And, the 60 Progressive Recording of the HDC-HS700 produces 60 images per second. This extremely dense image information creates intricate detail and silky smooth motion. Even when subjects move quickly, afterimages are minimized to create more natural footage. The progressive method is most effective when shooting detailed designs where moire patterns tend to occur, or when capturing scenes during sports events where the subjects are in constant motion. Also, the recorded images are displayed clearly even when they are made into still images, so it is possible to preserve stunning photos when clipping them from videos

- The HDC-HS700K has a generous 240GB hard disk drive (HDD) for storing hours upon hours of your HD video and still images. The camera also records to optional SD/SDHC/SDXC memory cards as well for even more storage and easy transfer of files

- Panasonic's 3 MOS image sensor has a total of 9.15MP (3 x 3.05MP) for capturing stunning 1920 x 1080p high definition video and up to 14.2MP still images
- Leica Dicomar Lens
- Panasonic HD camcorders use Leica Dicomar lenses, which are renowned for their ability to render sharp images and excellent shading. They also suppress ghosting, flare, and distortion at the image edges. Even in strong sunlight, these superb lenses maintain high contrast and resolution. A bright new F1.5-F2.8 lens with a 46mm filter diameter has been created for the HDC-TM700. Efficient light collection allows the new lens to capture bright, clear images even in dim lighting or at high shutter speeds. This high-end lens brings out all the beauty of Full-HD images
- 35mm Wide-Angle Capture
- The 35mm wide-angle lens on the HDC-HS700 fits more people and more of the background into the frame than a conventional 44.9mm lens. This is especially handy when you want to take a group photo in a small room
- 3" LCD Display
- Record and review your footage with the generous 3" LCD display; an included stylus helps you navigate the touch screen menu options with ease
- 18x Intelligent Zoom
- The HDC-HS700 features a 12x optical zoom and an Intelligent Zoom function that goes all the way up to 18x. When using Intelligent Zoom, Intelligent Resolution Technology lets you shoot at high zoom rates while preserving image sharpness. You get crisp images of highly detailed objects - without the blurry edges
- Up to 14.2MP Still Image Capture
- Capture brilliant still images up to 14.2MP in size when shooting in the 3:2 aspect ratio. When shooting in 16:9, otherwise known as wide angle, the HDC-HS700 is capable of taking up to 13.3MP photos. And in 4:3, the standard imaging size, the camera can capture up to 12.2MP photos
