The Samsung LN26C350 26" 720p LCD HDTV packs a lot of features in a small package. It's ideal for the den, bedroom or dorm room and its piano black finish adds a stylish note to any room it's in.
Samsung's cold cathode fluorescent lamp (CCFL) LCD screen delivers a vivid, life-like image with a 15,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio at a fast 6ms response time. A low response time is critical for smooth pictures without "ghosting," caused by pixels that can't respond fast enough to the changing video signal. It's also vital in playing games.
The LN26C350 even has a special Game Mode that enhances dark areas, sharpens the picture, speeds up the image processing response and enhances the sounds of your games. Imagine picture and sound quality optimized for the special needs of gaming systems at the touch of a button.
Two more features that enhance Blu-ray disc, DVD playback, TV viewing, and gaming are Wide Color Enhancer and SRS TruSurround HD.
Wide Color Enhancer optimizes a given color's hue, resulting in a more natural rendering of colors, while SRS TruSurround provides an incredible immersive sound environment from just two speakers by projecting "phantom speakers" that seem to be all around you. Walking down a creepy hallway in a video game or watching a baseball manager argue with the umpire will never be the same.

Response time refers to the amount of time it takes a pixel to "refresh" itself - to go from being active to being inactive, (ready to be re-activated). We purchased this product for my Grandmother's birthday and not only was it a quick and easy setup, the quality of the picture was amazing. Samsung has outdone themselvs yet again. The sound is a little weak given the area the TV is in, but still decent for the TV size. I would say this TV is best suited for a bedroom or small den and not a huge living space. Great value for the cost.

We use this as our secondary TV (in bedroom), and I'm extremely happy with this purchase. Both the picture and the sound are fine. Since I also needed to purchase a larger TV for the den at the same time, my goal was to buy good quality, but at a reasonable price, and I feel that's exactly what I achieved. My boss tells me that adding an HDMI cable will make the picture even better, if I so desire, although I'm happy with it already. I was, at first, disappointed in the remote control,--we had to keep clicking it to make the volume go up or down instead of just holding it down. But since then, a friend showed us how to make an adjustment, and now the volume control works as it should, by simply holding down the button. VERY happy with this purchase!

This is a second TV that we use in our bedroom. It is very sleek and stylish. Great picture and sound. One possible shortcoming (I haven't researched the issue properly) is that there doesn't appear to be auto closed captioning when the mute function is on. Instead, you have to switch it on manually.
