Cinevate's DSLR Rig was designed in response to the growing need for shoulder and rail support by filmmakers shooting video on still cameras. By configuring the Proteus Rail System for cameras such as the Canon 5D MkII, Canon 7D, and Nikon D3S, Cinevate gives today's DSLR filmmaker a perfect blend of support, functionality, and customization. The Monstor grip handles and 15mm carbon fiber rods combine with an adjustable shoulder pad to form a sturdy, lightweight rig that allows for comfortable, all-day shooting.
Fully configurable to each shooter's needs, the DSLR Rig can be outfitted with a wide range of professional accessories, from the Durus Follow Focus and Matte Box to the Proteus Cage. And if you need to shoot with something besides a DSLR, no problem: the DSLR rig will support video camcorders, too.
The base plate ejects straight up and offers a multitude of configurations, none of which protrudes below the rails. Height, XY adjustment, rake angle and placement of the rails blocks are all variable. The base plate is also the basis of our shoulder support system.
The Proteus Quick-Release System ships with a Manfrotto 501 sliding plate which works with Manfrotto 501 and 503 tripod heads. If you are using a RC2 or 516 type plate, our base plate system adjusts to fit.
