This is a great value. The tubes do fit very snugly around the lens, but I haven't found it to be a major problem. I did test connect all of the tubes to each other before putting them on a lens to be sure they did not stick, and found there to be no issues with the functionality. Does a great job of creating shallow depth of field and really cuts down on your shooting distance with any lens. I have the Canon 50mm f/2.5 macro, and I found I really needed a lot more light to use extension tubes because of the much higher f-stop required to achieve focus. I will be picking up a ring light as well to compensate. I would buy this again.

I use the lens extensions for food close-ups. I've found that they only work one at a time on my lens. (Canon 17-85mm) I can't stack them for some reason. My camera won't pick up on the lens with them stacked. One at a time they are still great though. The quality is wonderful! In low light situations you will need a tripod though. They are also a bit hard to screw on and off. Overall they are pretty good for the price though.

These were a bit baffling to me at first. I'm using them with a 70-200mm f2.8 lens. The first time I attached them, I thought they weren't working. But then I figured out just how close you have to be to the subject to use the full 65mm stack. Within about 8-24", you must first use your ZOOM ring to find the very limited focal range in which your subject resides, THEN you can allow autofocus to take over, or just focus manually. But autofocus alone will not find the subject for you. Remember, if you can hear the AF motor working, and the meter is moving, then they are working just fine. You just need to use the above method to find the subject. Don't try and focus on something 6ft away.

As far as image quality, well they're just tubes full of air, so they don't affect imaged quality directly. However, you really need a light source with these to work at higher shutter speeds. The tubes eat a lot of light, but operating at slower shutter speeds just isn't feasible unless you're indoors (no wind) with an inanimate object. Living things like bugs or flowers, blowing even slightly in the wind, will end up blurry. You at least need to use a reflector to put light on the subject, and I recommend using the Mirror Lock-Up feature, if your camera has one.

My one real complaint is that there is something funky with the release lever design. Once, after several successful attachments/releases, I could not get the largest ring to release from my lens. It was stuck – like, scary stuck. Finally I was able to manhandle it and get it off, and I've attached/removed it successfully since then. But I didn't like that – especially attached to my $1400 glass.

I'm a beginner at photography, and don't have a lot of money to spend on lenses, so these tubes get me what I need for cheap. They work great and I've taken some pretty amazing macro shots with my standard kit lens. I'm a tiny bit worried about the plastic construction, but no problems so far. I would think if you're doing pro stuff you would want to get something made out of metal, but these should be fine for the casual photographer.

Mostly take garden photo docs, flowers and hot pepper pods! Could see a lot of other uses down the road.

Going 5 stars cause of price and it works with my EF-S lenses (18-55 and 75-300), with some limitations.

The fit is excellent.

Also, turns out my favorite tube so far is the 13mm. It adds a lot of macro firepower to improve on my standard setup. If I had purchased the dedicated Canon 25mm tube (for twice the price), I would have missed out on this option. Still experimenting with stacking and etc.

Limitations: Lens will not communicate with camera when all three tubes stacked. I'm still giving 5 stars as I doubt I'd ever need this option. Works with any combo of 2 tubes.

Autofocus DOES work, but it's best just to shut it off. Poor camera brain doesn't know zactly what my brain wants to focus. I don't see this as a big issue. Maybe I just need to change the focus priority target thingie.

This is a fun item for the hobby guy. So glad I tried this cheaper option for something not used often, but works darn well when I do.

I got this for my 100mm F2.8 Macro lens, Works as advertise , Aperture control works, but very slow auto focus, but I dont use AF for macro,

In an attempt to try out some macro photography with extension tubes before shelling out the big bucks for a dedicated macro lens, I decided to try out these tubes based on the price and 3 different tubes in the kit to mix and match.

I do like the fact that these tubes allow you to get in closer to the subject however getting too close just leads to blurry shots.

Also, about half the time when using 2 or more tubes I seem to get an error code on my T3i. If I just take them off and either put them back on exactly the same or just switch up the order of the tubes it usually will go away. This problem doesn't seem to happen when using only one tube.

Overall, considering the price, I'm happy with them and they have come in handy for the times when you just need to get a little closer. I'd recommend these as long as you're not expecting true macro quality shots.

I have two macro lenses but the minimum focus distance for each lens is several inches. So I purchases this extension tube set to allow me to get much closer with larger images on the sensor.
The three sections can be used either singularly or combined in any combination based on your needs. The tubes are hollow plastic (no glass) but add to the macro effect by changing the spatial relationship between the lens and image sensor.
I used the tubes just this afternoon snapping some shots of small flower blooms.
Highly recommended.

It may scream "cheap plastic" but everything works, even AF with EF-S lenses. Gets the job done at a fraction of the price of Canon extension tubes, and definitely lots cheaper than a dedicated macro lens. Excellent for the money, not worth it at higher price, overall satisfied.

This macro extension set is exactly what I was looking for. There is a whole new world out there waiting to be photographed and now I can see and capture it.

The set it itself was a bit difficult to detach and attach at first but it seems like the parts loosened up a bit and now they work flawlessly.

I was looking for something that I could use to do macro photography with my lenses, without spending a ton. I didn't want pure macro lenses, so I opt'd for some extension tubes.

These fit the bill perfectly. Although when you stick your L series lens on one they feel a little cheap, but all it needs to do is give me the ability to shoot macro with it.

Solidly built, even though it's plastic. I'm not worried about my lens falling off. It's great at what it does for the price. Well worth it.

Used the 31mm extension tube with my Canon 100 - 400 zoom lens. Used zoomed out to 400 mm to photograph fiddler crabs so far. It can be hand held but not recommended and need to turn off image stabilizatoin.

The product matches the performance of tubes costing over twice as much. Allows real close ups for macro shots without the cost of a dedicated lens. Slightly stiff (initially) but positive locking mechanism.

Adding an auto extension tube to the rear of the camera lens, gives you the ability to focus really close. There is some loss of light, but no loss in image quality. Image quality will depend on the quality of the lens you are using. Use a small apeture to compensate for DOF, and definately use a Tripod. This product gives you the option of 3 different sizes which can be used in multiple combinations. The finish is kind of cheap looking, but the fit is perfect.

I bought this set of extensions for use with my 50mm f1.8 canon lens. They are used for a myriad of things from taking pictures of flowers to close ups of eyes. The greatest thing about these extensions are the price. For the price of one canon extension you can get three of these. For an extension it works well (they don't physically do much after all) but there are a couple of small problems which people may not like. The lengths of these extensions are slightly different, and that does make macro calculations a little tricky. Also they do require abit of strength to put on and take off. That aside for the price you pay, these extensions are gems.
